Hi Squadron Leader,

I have FS Instant Approach 2021 for MSFS, but haven't used it for some time. So, I thought it would be good to generate the runway data for MSFS. After the main data has been produced correctly, FSFSRunwayGen starts. However, after processing close to 4000 airports, I get Error 6 - Overflow, location ProcessRunwayTextFile. After that, the process crashes. Retrying to generate the data leads to the same result.

What can I do to prevent this from happening? Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Lex Hegt

Hi Lex:

Sorry to hear about this - I am sure we can solve it quickly.

It sounds like there is some element in the data read from Microsoft Flight Simulator which is abnormal and this is causing the 2nd task to report an error, so please reinstall FS Instant Approach into a brand new folder and this time do NOT generate new runway data.

FS Instant Approach comes with runway data and it is only necessary to generate new data if you have added scenery which changes the locations of runways. This is rarely needed as most changes are tiny and make no difference to the approaches.

Please let me know how you get on.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for getting back on this. I just tried your suggestion and FS Instant Approach now works indeed! Just like you said, some unexpected data must have been picked up that led to that exception. I deleted all the traces of the previous installation, so without generating the runway data again, I can't reproduce the same situation again. Everything seems to work fine now, so I don't intend to generate the data again.

Thanks for your help and have a great day!

Best regards,
Lex
