I've only recently started using Xplane with Steam using my Oculus Rift and it's been working really well. A few stutters, but nothing I can't live with. Of course the tutorials in Xplane do not work with VR (very old bug) so I thought about buying FS Flying School.
Problem I have is I launch Xplane, get a plane ready at the Chicago airport (as I am using the demo of FS Flying school), and then when I am in the plane, I launch FS Flying School, which runs correctly and finds the Xplane install, but a few minutes after I click on Connect in the FS interface, Steam VR crashes and then a few moments later the head set goes blank.
Xplane itself continues to run on the monitor.
Any ideas what's happening here?
As I say, otherwise, xplane 11 works fine in steam vr using my oculus rift.

Hi Romeo Alpha:
Many thanks for your detailed report.
I'm sorry to read that this is not working smoothly for you.
Folks have reported success using X-Plane with VR with FSFlyingSchool.
One point we always make is that the optional text captions shown by FSFlyingSchool on the monitor screen are not shown in the headset, but most folks don't need or want the captions.
Sadly I have no recommendations for you - many thanks for trying the demo - that's precisely why we publish demos for all our software so folks can make sure the software runs to their full satisfaction on their system before even considering making a purchase.
Your report here will help folks understand the value of the demo!
Have a great week of flights!

Yes, seems to be a conflict with Steam rather than VR. Sadly now that I have bought XP with Steam I can't afford to buy it again as a standalone program so I won't be able to use your products.
Shame as what I did use seemed very cool.

Hi Romeo Alpha:
This is a puzzle - as you can imagine folks all over the world have been using FSFlyingSchool with X-Plane Steam edition for years.
But - every PC is configured differently and it is certainly possible that specific combinations of software, settings, computer, add-on software and additional controllers can produce a system on which our software cannot be used sadly.
Again - thanks for trying the demo!
Have a great week of simulator flights!
