Hi Allen:

>> How do I know which flight mode I am flying in ? Help please ?

When you are not connected, at the Pilots screen in FSFlyingSchool turn on 'Display Captions in X-Plane' - this will show text captions at the top of the X-Plane screen.

The leftmost information displayed is your current flight mode.

You can tell FSFlyingSchool to display this data whenever you wish by pressing Ctrl Shift D

or

you can ask the instructor to display it if you are using the Voice Command Pack by speaking the command "Display Data".

Have a great weekend of flights!

OK, so I'm very new to both MSFS & FSFS.

I'm using MSFS2020 1.21.18.0 and FSFS 15.0.0.

Sorry to repost this question but I can't find the Flight Mode indicator anywhere, can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

Hi Derek:

FSFlyingSchool does not yet have captions in Microsoft Flight Simulator though we hope to have them soon.

Although no indication of the flight mode is displayed by FSFlyingSchool, the instructor will keep you up to date.

When you start, you are in taxi mode, and once you advance the flight mode with CRTL SHIFT Z you will hear the instructor say "OK We've finished taxiing and are about to take off."

When you reach your cruising altitude you should advance the flight mode with CRTL SHIFT Z and you will hear the instructor say "OK We're now cruising."

When you are close to the time when you'll be lowering flaps for landing (or an equivalent point if the aircraft has no flaps) you should advance the flight mode with CRTL SHIFT Z and you will hear the instructor say "OK We're about to land."

Once you land and slow down to taxi speed - you will automatically be in taxi mode.

Have a great week of flights!

Thanks Jeff, understood.

It's just that, as a novice, I loose my place and forget to advance the mode.

I'll just have to get better at it.

Thanks again for the prompt reply.
