Hi,

Having spent the last 4 days getting FSX to work despite it still CTD I bought

FSFS and find another bunch of problems.

The keys do not work at all!

The Flight log does not update although I managed to get 2 entries!

Instructor tells me to slow down as he thinks im taxiing when in fact im taking off.

Flight sims are no longer fun, im ready for dropping this lot in the bin and go do my PPL.

Windows xp SP1,2 and 3

FSX Deluxe SP1 (took SP2 off as it crashed the menus) inc fspilot and Horizon Photographic scenery.

geForce 7900 st

Note I cant start FSFS when on the runway because I have to end flight.

Please Help

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

It sounds like flight simulation has been a rough ride lately  - so let's so what we can do to get you flying smoothly.

If you still have problems with FSX, I'd recommend posting your questions on AVSIM.com - a great place to get help with all things in the FS world.

Regarding FSFlyingSchool... this is the place to come!

>> The keys do not work at all!

This is almost certainly related to the way the data is entered into the fields at the credits page of FSFS.

Can you send us a screen shot of the data as it appears after having been entered into the credits page of FSFS? That way we can look at it and find the problem.

Send us a screen shot of the screen with the "invalid" message on the screen. We need to be able to see your registration details just as you have entered them into the screen. This is your private information - do not post it to this forum - you must email it to us.

To send us a screen shot, press the Print Scrn (print screen) button on your PC keyboard to capture the entire screen and then PASTE that information into an email to us at info@fsflyingschool.com

To PASTE the screen capture, simply press Ctrl V while typing in the body of an email to us. The email will need to be in HTML format (not plain text).

Also - please look around this forum for information on the registration process. There is a lot of information here on how it works.

>> The Flight log does not update although I managed to get 2 entries!

2 entries in what? Not sure what this means. Can you explain?

>> Instructor tells me to slow down as he thinks im taxiing when in fact im taking off.

The manual explains that the pilot, once lined up and ready to go, must tell the instructor that he/she is about to take off. This is done by advancing the FSFS flight mode from 'taxi' to 'takeoff'. See full details in the manual.

>> Note I cant start FSFS when on the runway because I have to end flight.

Not sure what this means - I think this is about how to correctly start a flight with FSFS?

Start FSX first and put a plane known to FSFS onto the runway - get yourself at the controls.

Then launch FSFS and then press connect.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi,  Well I seem to have sorted things out.

I can now fly circuits, all pre flight checks are acknowledged and the log book updates fine.

Occassionally the keys still don't work !  I think this may be a problem that occurs when FSFS connects to FSX because 10 Read errors show up in the settings screen in FSFS.  A restart of both programs usually fixes this.  This is probably a problem with FSX because it's very bug ridden.

I also managed to create my local airfields(Norfolk UK) in the non ils folder to fly VFR approaches, although I think the glideslopes may need tuning as the instructer says im too high or low when the PAPI shows im on the right slope.  I set 3deg to start.

I'm managing between 80 and 100 on circuits with the cessna 172 which im quite pleased with.

The instructor is very strict when flying circuits, tried bringing him an apple and bribing with money, but he won't increase my score, better keep practicing.

Thanks for your help

Very glad to hear things are progressing and that you're getting some first class circuit flying in.

We look forward to seeing some serious impact on the web high score tables!
