Hi all pilots
FSX has had a revival as many now know. Dovetail, the guys who makes Train Simulator, have bought the source code to the entertainment part of FSX. (Lockheed bought the non-commercial code few years ago, and are developing for training purposes)
But this time its the entertainment version that´s up for a renewal - or is it?
I would like to know what people are thinking about this new version - which apparently is NOT "just" FSX with a new multiplayer (although it is ALSO that)
I myself have bought it - but I have not had much time to try it out yet - BUT my experience is that they have improved the Anti-aliasing by a lot, frame rates are much much better than the original version of FSX, and this is confirmed by a lot of guys out there, who uses this new sim, as I would like to call it, and not just a new version of FSX. For me it seems like it is at least FSX½ - and with rumors about the plans Dovetail has - (64 bit grahpics, direct 11 support... to name a few,) this is very likely to become FSXI - pretty soon.
But what is your experience guys? Do you agree on the improved Frames - the better anti-aliasing... better overall experience? Lets hear it guys
Regards

I bought it, just to have yet another backup copy of FSX. Glad I did.
Everything you say here is gospel, at least as far as far as the frame rates per second go.
It's nice to have a virgin version of FSX, have all your sliders cranked to the right, and get no less than 60-80 fps anywhere in the world, and a solid 20-30 fps in areas like JFK, LAX, EGLL and RJAA Narita (where you're lucky to break 10-15 fps on a good day -even on a killer pc...).
The real question of course, is can we put our version of FSFS 2014 into FSX-SE or not?

Hi Folks!
Yes - we're seeing vastly better frame rates here too - and I also noticed that PC Pilot Magazine have said the same thing.
Meanwhile...
Here's an update on the plans we are looking at regarding FSX SE and some information on what will occur if FSFS is run with it at present, today being December 31st 2014...
FSFS is not yet designed to work with the Dovetail edition of FSX sold on Steam.
FSFlyingSchool PRO 2015 is for FSX by Microsoft and not yet for the Dovetail edition of FSX sold on Steam.
As we can all imagine, FSX SE is a new and different program - FSFlyingSchool has not stopped working.
FSFlyingSchool PRO 2015 for FSX Steam Edition is coming very soon.
We don't have a release date, but I can give an informal estimate that it is likely to occur within just a few days.
Upon its release, customers who already own a registered (purchased) copy of FSFlyingSchool PRO 2015 for the original Microsoft version of FSX will be able to download a product which supports FSX Steam Edition at no extra charge.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Happy New Year!
