The Landing Mode is checked for Automatic Detection Setup of a Pilot. When I want to descend (say from 12,000 feet to 10,000 feet) while in Cruising Mode, FSFS wants to put me in Landing Mode. If I hit Ctrl-Shift-X to put me back in Cruise Mode, it will soon send me back to Landing Mode if I am still descending.
Is there a way to stop this without turning off the Auto-Detect Landing Mode?

Hi Roger:
Thanks for your interest and your interesting post!
FSFS functions exactly as you say and there is no way to indicate that when automatic detection of landing mode is selected it should be temporarily suspended or told to ignore a certain category of descent.
It sounds like you certainly know your way around FSFS and so I would recommend that you, as do many seasoned FSFS pilots, turn off automatic detection of cruising and landing as this gives you precise control.
I always think of it as being like a car's automatic versus manual transmission, or perhaps automatic focus on a camera versus manual.
I hope this helps!
