I can't find this topic covered -except for the invalid registration- so hence my posting this tonight:

First off, a caveat: I have not run FSFS in a while. I've been busy with real life things.
I haven't been to the forums here in a while either, but I do still keep getting constant emails from FS Inventions advertising all sorts of things to sell me related to FSFS. More on that email addy later...

Last night, I ran FSFS 5.8.6 (August 12 2012), did a couple of flights in the FSD Piper Saratoga TC II. The flight maps were created, and the logs were correctly filed in my "C:/Program Files (x86)/FSFlyingSchool/PilotRoster/steve.htm" folder.

For kicks, I tried to install 6.4.2 of FSFS Pro 2013 today, but it kept giving me an invalid key error pop up message, even though my three email addy address fields and the product key were entered correctly. It would only let me do the Green Bay demo.
(Now the later part: I did notice something from this post here : , that my email addresses were wrong from the code that FS inventions sent -the emails are missing a letter off the end (but back when I first installed it, they worked right, even missing that last letter): -they don't match my current email addy FS Inventions has. I did try adding the missing letter: still no good.
The reg code is correct: 5 sets of numbers, separated into 4 numbers in each group, each group separated by a hash mark.)

So I went and reinstalled 5.8.6 back in, and did a FSX flight in a FSD Piper Navaho Black Gold.
Everything was installed (just as it was into my default location: C:/Program Files (x86)/FSFlyingSchool

Everything was back to normal, or so I thought:
I did a 64 nm smooth Alaskan flight and landed safely. Nothing got submitted to the Scoring Table, nor did it save my flight map as I requested.
It did record the results in my flight today in the log book, but no flight map.

That flight's results scores: Navajo Black Gold ended Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 11:48 Landing Score:95.29 Flight Score:98.24

Three questions, being I'm stuck running 5.8.6 now:
1) Does that mean that 5.8.6 won't submit scores from scoring aircraft to the Scoring Tables anymore? That Navajo score above qualified -plane model (according to the FSFS manual) and scores...

2) Doesn't 5.8.6 create the Flight map anymore since I tried the upgrade and failed?
It did create the maps up until last night...

3) My detail packs are gone, which I've had since I bought FSFS back in it's 4.? days: the C152 II, 172 and 737 detail packs, they are now greyed out (so is the Mooney detail pack, but I never purchased it, so that is correct).
The only thing I have (enabled in the Credits link) is the voice pack, which I have never used. I never entered a key for it, so how is it enabled?
I'm going to have to dig through credit card bills to confirm the exact date that I purchased FSFS, but those detail packs (sans Mooney, obviously) were in there STANDARD and INCLUDED with my original purchase -it was the biggest reason I went and bought the Carenado C152 II right after I bought FSFS...

Thanks in advance.

Hi again Steve!

>> For kicks, I tried to install 6.4.2 of FSFS Pro 2013 today

We always do our very best to make clear something along the following lines (taken from a recent email)...

"If you are a registered owner of FSFS PRO 2013 for FSX/FS2004
just download and install into the same folder
as your existing registered product.
This will update your version to 6.4.3.

If you are new to FSFS PRO 2013 for FSX/FS2004
just download and install into a new folder
so you can try out the free demo."

So someone like yourself, owning FSFS but not owning FSFS PRO 2013, needs to download and try the demo in a new folder - not install it over the existing installation of an older product.

FSFS PRO 2013 is not free to any owner of an older version. Its version updates are free to owners of the same product.

I state all this here just to help as many folks as possible who might read this in the future.

Now - as to your installation - I think we can solve the issues by getting FSFS PRO back to where it was.

I strongly suggest that you create a fresh installation of FSFS PRO into a new folder. You can download it, if you need to, from here...

...and the only other thing we need would be if you could email the email address you used to make your purchases to sales@FSFlyingSchool.com, they will take it from there and be happy to email you the add-on codes you bought.

Thanks for the reply Jeff, and thanks for posting all the additional info. It should indeed be helpful to those with questions in the future. Things are a bit clearer now with that email quote you posted -shown below.

I think I understand now: in my situation, I am considered "new" to FSFS 2013.

I went ahead and purchased the $19.95 upgrade, being it has all the detail packs (that I was concerned about) in this new version. Again, I have no need for the voicepack.
I'm very happy with the product (RANT: minus the missing Scoring Planes that I have tons of potential fsr's for btw -not counting the ones I already sent in to support@FS.. a while back...lol
The message here: you guys need to get that Scoring Table current and up to date -lots of missing new payware planes, but many old payware planes there that can't even be bought anymore. END RANT...lol).

I will go ahead and delete the old FSFS from my C/Program Files (x86)/... and install the demo they sent me , then register this new one, and then everything should be OK on my end.

By the looks of it, this new FSFS Pro 6.4.3 pretty much takes care of the need for having FSIA 1.6.0 (July 25 2012), right?
Regardless, I won't touch FSIA. It will stay where it is unless I hear differently from you.

Thanks Jeff.

Steve

Hi Steve:

Thanks for your purchase!

FSFS PRO 2013 v 6.4.3 has all the features of FSIA and indeed of FSIA PRO except for the sole feature of being able to reset your approach by toggling the panel lights in the plane.

Glad you are happy with FSFS!

And yes - we are very much behind on adding all those FSU / FSR files (that users have submitted) to the program - I am sure I've said this before - I will see what I can do / get it done ASAP.
