Keep being told off for not following MCP heading and Altitude, you don't know how many times I have shouted at the pc to "SHUT THE HELL UP"

Googling it is not helping, so please help me

Thanks

Paul

Well you can always use the voicepack, and kindly tell Mr. Smith to "be quiet please" - and then he will, until you ask for help again.

And by the way - the voicepack really is a wonderful feature - with lots of cool stuff to speak to Smith.

Hi Paul:

The MCP is the Mode Control Panel in the FSX Boeing 737-800. This is where the pilot sets the speed, altitude, heading etc to be flown using the autopilot.

Mr Smith will watch your use of this if you are flying this plane and only if you have "FSX Boeing 737-800 Options" turned on at the aircraft screen of FSFS and only if you have:

"Monitor MCP Heading"
and/or
"Monitor MCP Altitude"

turned on at the same screen.

You can also find details in the FSX Boeing 737-800 Detail Pack manual which is installed on your PC when FSFS PRO 2013 for FSX is installed.

Hi Paul:

If the AP is engaged and heading hold is engaged you should not be told to fly the heading. Likewise for altitude.

So... can you tell me exactly what it is the instructor is saying to you?

Please tell me all the phrases which you are hearing that are, by your experience, incorrect, and I will try to solve the case for you and get you up and flying with us.

I couldn't hear what he was saying as I was shouting at him to shut the hell up lol

I can't remember exactly, but I will make note next time it happens.

I turned MCP off in FSFS since it was bugging me.

I will turn it back on tonight and see what happens

On another note, is there a way of only being told once about something if it has been done?
Example, Set flaps and then I am told what and when they are used. Turn flaps another degree, i get told the same thing.

Can I be told once and once only during each section of a flight? IE Take Off Cruise, Landing etc?

Thanks for your help

Paul

Hi Paul:

To answer your question - FSFS does not permit the user to prevent the instructor from repeating comments/warnings etc about something that needs to be attended to.
