Does the (new) detail pack work with the Carenado Mooney? I can only get it to recognise the default FSX one.

Thanks,

Adam.

Hi Adam

I post a slightly edited quote from Squadron Leader.

" The Mooney pack is modelled on the default FS Mooney but can be used with others. The instructor will detect that you are flying a "Mooney" and provide the details listed in the Mooney Detail Pack.

This is unrelated to the FSR files which control whether you can submit a score to our website.

FSFS will always say "unknown" if there is no matching FSR or FSU file for the aircraft.

You can stop this, if you wish, but it is not required in any way.

Just save the user data shown at the aircraft screen, creating your own FSU file for any aircraft you want to fly.

There are full details in the manual.

Please let me know how you get on.

Thanks to both of you - and for the speedy response!

FSFS recognises the default FSX Mooney (I get a tick) but not for the Carenado one. I don't have a problem with the Carenado versions of the Baron or C208.

It picks up both .sfr and .fsu files (that I created) but I can't get the "Mooney Options" monitor tickbox to activate - it's always greyed out.

Any ideas?

Adam.

Hi -

Ah yes I see what you mean!

This has a simple solution - please quit FSX and FSFS and then rename the FSX folder which contains the Carenado airplane by adding the word BRAVO to the folder name.

For example this might be...

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado mooney"

being renamed to

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado mooney Bravo"

Once this is done, just start up FSX and FSFS in the usual way and it will work fine.

Please let me know how you get on.

Jackpot! Many thanks!!! Now to decide which of these wonderful Carenado aircraft I'm least likely to be nagged in !
