Hi all,

I had FSIA PRO working fine on my old computer(winxp32bit),now i have a new much faster computer on win7(64bit) so i uninstalled the program from my old computer and installed it on my new computer and everything registered fine. The problem i am having is when i press the connect button in FSIA it keeps bringing me back to the runway where i paused my sim at regardless of what flight i have entered in FSIA.I am using FSX gold edition with no addons, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,Terry

Hi:

There are two main suspects here...

1. FSUIPC 4 is not installed - FSIA cannot function without it. If it is not installed please download and install it as described in the manual.

2. If it is installed then the effect you describe could be caused by the "Start" checkbox not being "on" at the flight plan screen of FSIA. If it is not "on" then all FSIA does is provide flight mapping.

Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Terry:

What a puzzle! I am sure we can figure this out.

First - I will make clear that Windows 7 64 bit is no problem at all.

Questions:

1. When you press the connect button in FSIA PRO does it cause FSX to reload scenery the way it would normally when all is working correctly?

2. FSIA PRO has a new feature to reset the approach if the pilot turns the panel lights OFF for at least half a second and then back on again. Can you try this after having pressed connect (you must be "connected") and let me know if it does anything at all? (You can toggle the panel lights with Shift L )

3. If you fly (or taxi) for say 1 minute after "connecting" and then "disconnect" do you have the option to submit a flight map as is normal?

4. Please make sure you are using the latest version of FSUIPC.

Sorry for the long delay in responding back to you.(busy with life!)The problem still persists,I do have the latest version of FSUIPC installed and it shows it is working properly within FSIA PRO.When I click the connect button and reopen FSX, it does reload the scenery very quickly bringing me back to my original airport.I have no internet (as with my last computer when everything was working fine.)so I don't have the option to send a flight map. When i switch the lights on and off quickly it brings me back again to my original airport.I'm totally stumped as to what else I can try to do.but i'm not giving up!! Thanks for your advice and please respond back if any other ideas come to your mind.

Hi:

Yes - you must have the version that the manual for FSIA states - 4.80 or higher.

Glad to hear all is well - thanks for your encouragement!
