Hi:

Sorry to hear about the problem.

Some questions...

1. Were there any problems during the installation?

2. Windows security is entirely capable of preventing software from functioning.

Windows security has become so tight that in order for FSIA to function correctly it is necessary that:
- The same user installed FSX and FSIA and FSUIPC.
- That same user is running FSX and FSIA.
- That user is an administrator on that PC.

Even if you are the only person who uses the PC and you are its "administrator" of Windows security..

...you should always launch FSIA as an administrator or Windows may prevent operations such as saving your own data to your PC.

To do this just right click on the icon which launches FSIA and choose "Run as Administrator" - you can also indicate that this is a permanent choice in the "Properties" of the icon - accessed by a right click - in the "Advanced" button on the "Shortcut" tab.

Can you try this and let me know the results?

Hi

Again thanks for all your help - sorry to no avail
What I did was uninstall both versions of FSIA and then do a system restore to a point when I knew the programs were working. This did the trick and both versions are now working correctly again
Can only guess that something in my system upset the correct workings
