Installed a registered version purchased from Just Flight in the UK, to use on a Win 7 64 bit system using FSX. It connects OK but the instructor never says anything. When I press the test button in the interface I can hear the instructor speak. I get no connection errors. Just trying to use default Cessna 172. I noticed that FSFS does not seem to recognise that this plane is selected as everything is greyed out on the aircraft screen.

ANyways, first things first - any ideas why I hear nothing? And yes, I do make sure I load up FSX first, get into cockpit and only then startt FSFS

Hi:

Thanks for your purchase!

I'll do this step by step...

- This situation you have described would occur if the connect button in FSFS had not been pressed. Was it pressed?

- When it is pressed, does it change to "Disconnect"?

- When it is pressed, do you hear the instructor say "FSFlyingSchool connecting..."

- Are you then able to return to FSX with FSFS still running?

- Is FSX paused?

- When FSX is unpaused, if you, in FSX, press C2X this will change the frequency on COM2 and this is a simple test mechanism which causes the instructor to cough so that you know you can hear him/her. Do you hear anything?

- What happens if you apply full throttle and take off - does the instructor speak?

Hi Marco:

We got the screen shots - thanks.

There appears to be a problem with the connection to FSX. The system is behaving as if the connection did not succeed and therefore there is no talk from the instructor.

- When you are connected to FSX and FSX is not paused, if you view the Settings Screen of FSFS, does the "Time" value in the "FSUIPC Information" section of the screen change, or is it always frozen at "00:00:00" as in your screen shot? In normal operation, it should be changing once per second when FSFS is connected.

- Was FSUIPC installed on the PC before FSFS Pro was installed?

- Has FSX ever been moved or uninstalled or deleted from the PC previously?

Just tried it with the microlight and suddenly I have sound from it and a commentary.

Hmm, this was with no flight plan filed/loaded.

Wonder why it didn't work with the Cessna and at a UK airport with a flight plan loaded?

and now all of a sudden having closed down FSX and FSFS about 6 times, for no apparent reason FSFS is working?!

Hi again:

This is a puzzle!

I don't recall such a case before (there are 1000s of installations worldwide), but I am glad it appears to be working.

Please let us know if you have any problems.
