I have installed FSFS Pro demo. I started up FSX and have a c172 on runway at Ohare with a flight plan activated to depart to Midway. I started up FSFS Pro but at the bottom is a help message that it cannot find FSX. The connect button does not work. I have installed FSUIPC 4.80 and it shows up in the modules folder in FSX. That it where it installed itself. I would like to buy the full product but obviously need to get the demo working before I do so.
Thank you for your kind attention and any advise you can provide. BobK

Hi -

Thanks for taking a look at the demo and you are very wise to make sure it is working before you make a purchase!

Here are my thoughts as to possible issues...

As you know - you need to install FSUIPC. You do not need to register FSUIPC - it can be used in the free (unregistered) mode with our software per special arrangement with its author. It may ask for a 12 digit registration code - you do not need to provide one.

Next you need to check that FSUIPC is functioning correctly within FSX - if it is it will appear on the "Add-ons" menu in FSX when you have got a plane on the ground ready to fly. If it does not appear there, there was a problem with the FSUIPC installation. Try the FSUIPC installation again and watch carefully for problems.

If FSUIPC appears on the FSX "Add-ons" menu when you have a plane ready to fly you are ready to use FSFS.

Windows security has become so tight that in order for FSFS to function correctly it is necessary that:
- The same user installed FSX and FSFS and FSUIPC.
- That same user is running FSX and FSFS.
- That user is an administrator on that PC.
- It may also be necessary to right click on the shortcut that launches FSFlyingSchool and choose "Run as Administrator" in order to avoid problems with Windows Security. Please try this - it has solved the problem for countless FSX pilots.

Please let me know how you get on!
