The Carenado C152 doesn't have a glideslope indicator - only localiser. As far as I know, the Flight1 C152 doesn't have one either . So ...

1) Do any 152's have them in Real Life?
2) When flying a Carenado (non-glideslope) version, is there a way of disabling FSFS glideslope marking/calls?

I'm wondering why we have a C152 extension that only seems to monitor carburetor heat !

Adam.

Hi -

We left the logic for the glideslope in there because, unless I have forgotten something, the instructor speaks with reference to the glideslope, not the glideslope needle. If you are above the GS then you are still above it even if you have no needle.

Also, the Just Flight c152 certainly does have a GS needle, and I believe others do too.

There is no way of disabling the instructors references to the GS. He likes them... And she does too...

Sorry - I don't get this one - can you explain what you are asking in a bit more detail?

Thanks for the info, SL - I'll take a look at the JF one (I only have the Carenado one). Is the JF version any good?

Point taken about the glideslope .. even if you don't have an indicator. The problem is that I tend to "fly" from Auckland/Whenuapai (my local airfield in RL) that has military lights (I forget what they're called) so I don't get the usual PAPI red/white indicators on approach. That'l teach me to "borrow" a military base .

Please disregard my last (carburetor) comment. I was being flippant and it came out all wrong

We have tested those that come with the Flying Club product which is a great little package of aircraft. It flies nicely and has a very "lived in" look which I particularly liked.

Whoa - I'd watch out for the folks at the military base - they might take exception to your "borrowing"!

Oooops! Thanks for the reminder. I'd totally forgotten (since my last re-install) that not only do I have the "FlyingClubX" DVD sat on my shelf, but I also have the (free) FSInsider JF C152

So ... my fleet is now updated ... and I have a working C152 with glideslope indicator! The controller at NZWP is impressed by these rock-steady approaches ... though he does occasionally grumble about having to shuffle the odd C-130 or P-3 around.

Many thanks!
