Hello.  First of all, kudos for a great program. It has really captured my interest. I have been using the 2011 version; just upgraded to the Pro version. 

Here is my issue: When taxing (light GA aircraft; e.g. Mooney, Cessna 172 or Cherokee) the instructor continually alters his advice with regard to how I should position my alierons or elevators.  Even though the windsocks and FSX report a steady wind, there appears to be minimal relationship between the wind and the advice.

For example, the instructor advises "left aileron up"; then, when I turn 5-10 degrees in either direction he'll suddenly advise "right aileron up". 

This is such an important skill to practice; I'm wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this.  Looked in the manual and the forums, but I could not locate any information regarding this issue. 

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Chris

I would like to explain what FSFS is doing if you can give me the details of your experience.

I need to know the direction and speed of the wind, and what you hear when pointing along heading 'x' and then when you turn and hear something different at heading 'y'.

I can then build a picture of your situation and try to explain.

I recorded a movie of the taxi issue, but it's 321 MB (using Fraps; new to me).  I did however somehow capture the audio in a Windows Media Player file that only amounts to 2.2 MB.  I would be happy to e-mail that to you.  During a 20 second (or so) time period, while I'm taxiing at a brisk walk speed, I get the "aileron left", "elevator neutral - or down; don't recall", and "aileron right" advice.  This includes a transition directly from "let's get the left aileron up" to "let's get the right aileron up" with no "elevator neutral" or "elevator down" in between. 

During this 20 second period:  wind 341 @ 8 kts (set in FSX custom wx), and my indicated heading varies from 240 to 245 degrees.  The change from suggestion to suggestion does not appear to be affected whether or not I neutralize the yoke once the advice is heeded.

This issue occurs whether or not I use a 3rd party wx program (such as REX 2).  The aircraft is the Cherokee 180 (Carenado); program is FSX.  OS is Windows 7 64 bit.  Using GoFlight rudder pedals and CH Products Yoke. 

Again, I would be glad to e-mail the sound file to you.  I would love to send you the avi video file, but it's so huge.  Thanks again (in advance.)

I think I see what is happening. If the wind is coming from around 90 degrees to the right of the nose (as in your example) then a little turn to either side of it will cause MrSmith to hop from right aileron up, to left aileron up etc as the wind oscillates from being ever so slightly before the wingtip (headwind) to being ever so slightly behind the wingtip (tailwind). And the elevator advice will change with it.

If you slowly taxi around in a complete circle this should all become clear.
