Actually, having looked at it again, when you are informed that FSFS is disconnecting then go to the aircraft page FSFS has no info on the current aircraft...e.g. it doesn't know which aircraft is loaded into FSX therefore won't let me compile FSU's.

I've checked my folder options and they are pointing to the right versions of the sim.

Hello SL,

Yes the folder is titled "RealAir SF-260 Left Seat" and the other version which gets loaded with the aircraft is "RealAir SF-260"...And no i am not able to compile FSU's for any other aircraft. it's as if FSFS is looking in the wrong folder for the aircraft and not in the "simobjects" folder.

Hope this helps

Flood

Hi SL!

Initially I just updated the aircraft folder.....that caused the error.

I tried copying the name of the folder directly into the aircraft name  RealAir SF-260.fsr.

That did not work. I noticed that I still had the RealAir SF_260.fsr file in there, so I deleted that on.....just in case of a conflict, no go.

Tried to rename it to RealAir SF-260 Left Seat.fsr ( I actually copied the name directly from the FSX folder just to make sure no spelling or typo error) no go.

Renamed the files to RealAir SF-260 Left.fsu and RealAir SF-260 Left Seat.fsu (not at the same time) no go.

Tried to input the data as "user data". - all greyed out or not accepting the save, no go.

Now I reinstalled FSFS BUT did not upgrade the aircraft folder......no go

Seems to be exactly the same problem that FLOOD is reporting.....

Looking forward to a solution, I really do not want to fly without my instructor anymore!!!!

Regards & God bless

Alfred

P.S: I still do not understand why some data is hidden from you, it should even be possible to calculate variables from the core data?? Like changing V speeds with various weights, flap positions on different weights/speeds etc.

What am I missing?

Flood and Rapture:

Many thanks for the detailed feedback -

Yep - you've certainly hit on something which needs to be sorted out. It appears that creating an FSU is not always possible through the interface either due to FSX SP1 or FSX or another factor. We are looking into this now - I am sure we can get it sorted out.

Not all the core data we need is there in the FS aircraft data, so we can't have it and have no choice but to require supplemental data, thus: FSU and FSR files.

We are looking at enhancing the model so that things that change according to weight and tempurature etc can be taken into account - this is on the list...

Folks:

Certainly is a problem - have found program code which needs to be enhanced...

So - thanks for the input - no more needed on this issue - we have found something we need to change. Don't expect this will take too long.

Have fun flying in the meantime with stuff that works!
