Hi guys, I purchased your product about a year ago and uninstalled it along with all of FS2004 because it was all getting too big and bloated. I installed FS2004 fresh again and the latest 3.5 version of FSFS. When I try to start it up I get the error message that it has encountered a problem and must close. I've looked through the forums for an answer and I can't seem to find one, (could have missed it though). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi - Did FSFS work with the previous installation of FS2004 on that PC?

Thanks for the reply. Yep, it did work just fine on the same PC. It seems 3.5 installed okay, but it just won't boot up. My system runs on XP. Also have the latest FSUIPC.

We can only imagine that something about the PC itself has changed in the interval?

I scanned my disk along with the Windows XP Pro CD to check for missing or corrupt files and that came up with nothing out of the ordinary.
Installed Script 5.7
Installed an older copy of the FS 2010 installer from last year.
I still can't start the bloody thing................

Something on the PC appears to have changed, either in its configuration or the way it is used. Were FS2004 and FSFS both installed by the same user and was that user an administrator of the PC and is that user running both programs? You can also try launching both programs with a right click and followed by "Run as administrator". Let us know.

I'm the only user who has ever touched this PC. I tried to run as administrator but still no go. This is the only addon of many that I have purchased for FS9 that does not work. When I uninstalled it would there be a remnant in the registry that might be screwing things up? Should I send an error log? I'm stumped.

A key point is that it used to work and something on the PC has changed and now it doesn't, but that is a big haystack to find a needle in. We've not heard of problems with uninstalling and re-installing - it could happen but we have no leads. Just a thought - does the error occur when FSFS is launched by itself (without FS2004 running)? If it does not - you mentioned having the latest FSUIPC - we want to make sure it is (v 3.98) - here: http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/FSUIPC.zip

Yep, the error occurs when starting by itself. I also installed the latest (as mentioned in your post) FSUIPC.
Here's something: When I right-clicked on the .exe and tried to run the program as me (the only user on this computer), I get this error:
Error 481 Invalid picture
Location FSConnect.
Again I run FS9 so FSConnect shouldn't mean a thing right?

Please email us a screen shot of the entire screen to support@FSFlyingSchool.com >> Again I run FS9 so FSConnect shouldn't mean a thing right? FSConnect is the name of a subroutine inside all versions of FSFlyingSchool - it is where the error is being detected.
