In another thread it was stated some other users have had success changing certain settings to et it to work and that FSFS had no solution other than using a non-usb mic.  I set it up like this to listen to ATC through headset and airplane noise through the PC speakers.  Anyone have any help for me?

I am running FSX Deluxe SP2 on XP and have a Microsoft Life Chat USB headset.

Anything in the new version to fix this?  I have tried any and all settings to get it to work and had zero success.  I really want to use Voicepack but I choose separating ATC and engine noise over voice commands at this point.  With how prevalent USB headsets are today I should not have to choose which I prefer.

But I should have tried Voice around KORd before buying.  That is on me.

For what it's worth, I tried my new Sennheiser PC333D headset last night with FSFlying School Voice Command Pack and it worked fine.
I didn't have to set up anything.
They plug in via USB and I run Windows 7 64bit Professional.
Good luck,
Toby

JL:

Thanks for helping out with advice - that's one of the great things about forums.

Some (small number of) USB headsets have presented some fiddly issues with FSFS and we freely admit that we cannot sort out all of the many configuration posssibilities for the customer.

But it is very, very rarely the case that the issue cannot be resolved if the user tries a few different settings.
