i think it's best not go too far ahead...don't want the competion getting despondent, do we?

i'm locked a 20fps and it's running very smoothly. even with the patched UTEurope, MyTraffic at 50% and asv6.5 running.

20 FPS is pretty impressive with those settings. What system you running? I need to go to FS2004 to get good FPS and thus get good scores.

intel p4 670 (3.8GHz)
ASUS P5SD2-X mainboard
2048 MBytes DDR2
NVIDIA GForce 7900GTX

I also use Ultimate Defrag (Disktrix) to place files where i want them.
XP-Smoker pro 5.2 (waresoft) to optimize settings (as well as some of the autogen and tuning tips found on other forums).

Frame rates do drop to around 14 whenever i'm near 3rd party scenery (e.g. Glasgow xtreme) but the sim remains smooth. blurries are still an issue but less noticable than they were in FS2004.

Do you know the # of FPS improvement Ultimate Defrag gave you?

In FS2004 or FSX?

Hi John

I have no way of knowing if Ultimate Defrag was responsible for my improved frame rates, or if it was a culmination of tweaks.

I have no doubt however that it improved the stability and smoothness of the experience.

Disktrix do offer a trial period if you're thinking of trying it.
