Hi, I currently use the Saitek AV8R joystick for FSX. It is a good joystick, , but I am thinking of upgrading to a Yoke system. Any thoughts on which one to go for?

Hi,
I currently use the Saitek AV8R joystick for FSX. It is a good joystick, , but I am thinking of upgrading to a Yoke system.
Any thoughts on which one to go for?
Well I have a full Saitek Yoke/throttle and Pedal system and this is a very good system. I also had a CH yoke for a while, but the guy who gave it to me, suddenly returned to Flight simming, and so I gave it back to him.
I find the yoke a little lighter in the controlling, and thus making micro-adjustments easier.
The CH pedals are also both nicer to look at, and feels more natural to move than the saitek ones.
BUT - the Saitek system has several advantages also.
I like that the throttle levers are a seperate unit, and can be mounted besides the Yoke. I also have a Saitek Switch panel, and this mounts naturally upon the yoke unit. Several other extras can be bought that mounts on each other very naturally with the saitek system.
AND - I think that the Saitek system are still a little cheaper than the CH.
My two cents.... The decision is yours.

Hi CM: I see Ole has already helped with his experiences - mine are as follows: No experience of Saitek Yoke! CH Yoke is a pleasure to use - used for 5 years and no problems ever. No problems with configuration either. CH Pedals likewise. Great stuff. I have the CH 6 lever throttle quadrant, but have only just got around to mounting it and have not yet programmed it. I have not got it working for me yet - but I am sure that is because I have not yet been able to find the right materials to read. By default it does not control anything useful from what I can see and the configuration program which is meant to be used with it is unreadable on my LCD screen (no idea why - I am sure it is a simple solution). It is of a very tough construction - just like the yoke and pedals. I do like the look of all the things you can now add to a Saitek yoke set up - there are lots of gauges and panels. A great way to build a cockpit bit by bit... Or is that Christmas by Christmas...? Or is that Birthday by Birthday...?

Thank you both Ole and SL for your advise. After much deliberation I've decided on the Saitek system. See you both soon, maybe at Cosford eh!
