Hi,

I just bought and installed your product. It is really neat, and it is something I had been looking for for a while.

Now, I have a problem : the key combinations do not work on my computer : for instance, WTRL SHIFT D does not work.
I have a few GoFlight, but I did not map anything, and this does not work with the default FS Plane.
I use FS2004, and this is a clean install (I installed you product the same day I reinstalled all my machine).

I use a notebook, 2GB of RAM, 7950GTX with 512 Mb.
I use a Franch Keyboard, but I do not think this should be a problem.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Olivier

Oli,

Load up FS2004.
Start a flight at Chicago O'Hare using the Cessna 172.
Start the Cessna on the active runway throttled back, parking brakes on.
Start FSFlyingSchool and click on the Connect button.
You should hear "FSFlyingSchool connecting".
Try clicking C then 2 then X. You should hear the instructor cough.
Try taxiing at speed. The instructor should say 'You're taxiing too fast'.
Try advancing the flight mode by holding CTRL and SHIFT down simultaneously while hitting the z key. The flight mode should advance and the instructors should say 'You're about to take off'.
If that doesn't work and the flight mode does not advance, try CTRL-SHIFT-1 instead.

Are you using any other programs? There's a piece of screen grab software called SnagIt that uses some of these keys and can cause an issue.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for you quick answer - it worked!

Maybe I misread the manual - do you have to wait until he/she tells you you are taxiing too fast to change mode ?

Anyway, I will look into it. I could not make her caugh but this is not the most important.

I really appreciate you quick help.

Happy flying,

Olivier

Hello everyone.

I have the exact same problem: Nothing happens with the keyboard shortcuts or their alternate versions. Since that means I can't switch modes, the "instructor" thinks i'm taxiing when i'm actually taking off and deducts all kinds of points.

I'm using fsx deluxe english version, if that helps.

Armando

Armando:

Thanks for your feedback.

The good news is that FSFS is installed all over the world, running with FS2002, FS2004 and FSX with no problems so I am sure we can get this running on your PC.

Was this the first time you installed FSFlyingSchool - have you successfully run earlier versions of the product?

Are you using a registered version of FSFlyingSchool?

Could we ask you to send is some details about your PC?

We will need:

Exact Windows version
Exact Flight Simulator version
Exact FSUIPC version
Is FSUIPC registered? (It does not need to be, but we need to know if it is).

PC RAM (Main memory)
PC Processor
PC Video Card

Names of any other Flight Sim add-ons running at the same time

Names of any other software applications running at the same time - we ask this because a number of programs such as Snag-It and Camtasia may conflict with key mapping.

Please try to answer all the questions in this post so we can help you get up and running with FSFlyingSchool!

Hello. Thank you for your reply.

I have since my original post discovered that by mapping the shortcut keys to my joystick's buttons, they actually do what they are supposed to; so even though your help is greatly appreciated, its no longer necesary.

Thanks!

Armando.

I have just installed fsflyingschool demo v1.5 and have the same problem, none of the flight phase shortcuts work.

windows xp sp2, dutch language version
flight simulator x deluxe, build 60905.00.
FSUIPC4 (can't see the exact version, but I downloaded latest version today), not registered
Addons: my traffic x, Horizon UK VFR scenery generation X (although I am flying in USA, so not active)
Airplane: default C172

PC RAM: 2 GB
PC Processor: Intel Core2 6600
PC Video card: Asus EN 7600GT
US English keyboard

Apart from the short cuts, everything seems to work so far (I have just started)

Thanks for looking at the demo.

We have found that any keyboard problems have always been related to other software running on the PC, which could be software completely unrelated to FS.

Could also be related to key mapping software used with peripherals such as GOFlight or a joystick, pedals, yoke, etc.

We have always been able to resolve this by asking the user to shut down different parts until the issue has been identified. This has usually been caused by external programs used with Windows, but not needed for FS, such as screen capture software.

Does any of this apply to your system?
