| Being a Saitek fan, I cannot let this get by in silence. My old X-52 HOTAS is suddenly getting a worn, cheap, old look about it. Behold the future: 
 
Details here! Saiteks price: £320, and that is one h... of a check to write, but things normally get cheaper when in stores around the web. Dual throttle function, and more buttons, rotary dials, and stuff than you can imagine. Now only problem remains - how am I going to make my wife understand that this is a necessary purchase???

A yoke man??? Now what exactly is that?
Thing is - old habbits die hard, and I luuuuurve my HOTAS controller. For Choppers its the only thing that works. I dont fly fighters at all, and therefore no combat missions either.
But I also fly yoke. I actually have two yokes now. My brother in-law had bought himself a FSX gold and a CH yoke. Niether has been used for more than 2-3 hours in all in the 8 month he owned it, and one day I asked him if I couldnt borrow the CH yoke to compare to my Excellent Saitek Yoke. "No" he said, "but you can have it" and that was the way I got myself a second yoke.
So whats best? Well I really dont know. pros and cons to both I guess. But its cool to have both of them, and my Saitek Pedals goes fine with either set. 
But as I started out saying - I still love to fly with my HOTAS X-52 set, and this new set simply looks incredible, so I guess a fourth set of flight controllers eventually will find its way into my life.

| I am a "yolk man" sometimes - love dipping toasted bread "soldiers" into it for a special breakfast. (Not too often - gotta watch that stuff...) But I digress... I can see that using a yoke on a chopper would be a little odd... No combat? Fair enough. I spent several years of my life (it seems) learning the systems of MicroProse's Falcon 4.0 - what an amazing piece of work.  You name it - if it can be flown (fighters) or driven (tanks) or sailed (subs and surface warfare) - I'll give it a go. Two yokes? You are lucky! You could have... a copilot! I would be very interested to hear your comparison of the 2 products. Maybe a short bullet point list of pros and cons if you are feeling bored? Back to my boiled egg...

Yolk? Now what the heck it that? Sounds like the sound I make, the morning after a heavy pub-visit.  Falcon 4.0! The old Microprose Sim. Oh man, now youre talking. I dont fly combatplanes in FSX, probably because its not a combat simulator. No working guns/cannons/missils - no enemies - and no missions! But I flew Falcon a lot too, back on the 486 processor. I still love the wonderful handbook that came with the sim.  And I actually lie when I say that I dont fly combat planes at all. I have the C-130 Hercules plane for FSX and I absolutely love that. Only plane I have that came with a Microprose´ish-telephone-book-thick handbook. Im a sucker for big handbooks. I flew lots of combat back in the days of the Breadbox (for the young people, the breadbox is the Commodore 64, back in the 80´s) "Stealth fighter" and "F15" to mention a couple. I Hold a lifelong love for the Commodore 64, and for MicroProse games. I am going to compare my two yokes anyway- how could I not? So I might as well write a little about it. Perhaps someones could benefit a little, so I´ll do it - when the time allows me to. Subs. I have fiddled a little with Silent Hunter IV, (and considerable more with MicroProses old Silent Service - again on the Commodore 64) I just saw the other day that Silent Hunter V is available for preorder - and due for purchase on March 4´th, so Im probably gonna buy that. I have seen videos from Silent Hunter V and it just looks stunning. I know that Aerosoft have made a BUS-simulator(!?!), so if you are bored and need something else to pilot, then try as a Busdriver in New York.
