FloodColumbus has stirred things up on the flights and landings score tables with a couple of recent flights in his LevelD Simulations B767-300. This pilot now occupies the 3rd and 4th positions on the landings table, with a best being a score of 144.94 today. FloodColumbus holds the top two slots on the flights table, with a personal best of 148.02 achieved yesterday. So... who else out there has got what it takes? Can you fly the heavy stuff in bad weather without spilling the drinks? Well done FloodColumbus.

Let the games begin! Eric1972 now leads the flight score table with his 12 Feb score with his "Vmax 747-200 VMAX UPS", which is the "Ready for Pushback" version of this splendid bird. Landing in visibility of 1 mile, this pilot scored 165.94 . Hmmm... anyone want to try this using PMDG 747? How about all you A380 lovers out there? Or... just try a flight with the biggest aircraft in your fleet and turn down the visibility and turn up with crosswinds... Who can better Eric1972's score? Will FloodColumbus strike back...? So Eric - how was the landing...?

Eeeh.... I thought the landing was OK. But apparently not. Too fast, beside the centerline (see below). It's just different with such a big beast. The FSR gives a stall speed of 101 kts, touchdown was at 113. So I thought that was OK. And yes...I lost the glideslope momentarily.
About the speeds....the 747 has an enormous weight range; and stall speed will vary accordingly. Can FSFS cope with this?
Long way to go to VonLien's score!
Eric
--------------------------
Landing Score:55.85
Landing was successful in the following areas:
* Good glideslope on ILS approach.
* Good alignment with runway on ILS approach.
* Gentle touchdown.
* Wings were level.
* Good pitch control after touchdown.
* Good pitch at landing.
* With flaps - good job.
* With spoilers armed.
* Heading aligned with runway.
* Throttle(s) idle.
* Good controlled final descent to touchdown.
Landing included the following problems:
* Too fast - you had to force the plane to stay down.
* Glideslope lost before you touched down - not your best effort.
* Not near the centre line - you can do better.
* Poor steering after landing - stay on the centre line.
Definite room for improvement...
