..It is midnight in Daru in what passes for the town meeting place. In reality a two sided shed with a leaky roof. Biggles thumps the table top with his half empty beer glass. Guinness splatters the local digniteries seated in the front row who have gathered to hear the results of the Sweet & Sour Tour

"Ladies & Gentle people of Daru. It gives me great pleasure to announce the phase 1 winners........"

Biggles is cut off in mid stride by a commotion at the back of the room.

"Boss Biggles, wait, wait, another plane has arrived. It is Mister Gronin who insists he has arrived in time & wishes to be counted & declared the winner, of something, .........anything"

There is uproar in the room as this means that there will be another delay in declaring who the winners are. Just then a gunshot rings out from just outside the meeting place, Kevin B W has arrived to restore order.

"Greetings all you temporary Aussies. The meeting will recommence when it recommences.....Now Bugger off!!!!!!!!!!"

No need to be so rude Kev, but effective all the same thinks Biggles as he surveys the scene as people scatter in all directions to get away from the hairy beast that is Kev.

A sign is pinned to the non existing door to the meeting place     "Recount - Come back later!"

.

After a rapid recount & Ronan offering crates of beer to ease the way. Biggles makes his way to the notice board, a notice clutched in his hand.

"It is my duty to declare that the Overall Winner of Phase 1 of the Sweet & Sour Tour is Aviator Fenric & the winner the Phase 1 dumping contest is, gosh how embarrassing, for it is I, Biggles your humble servant."

"Kevin, the certificates if you please"

"Aviator Fenric - front & centre"

& not least, me

and a "Special Mention"  to Ronin who arrived with seconds to  spare and maintained his most improved status

Well done guys, but don't rest on your laurels. Foxhat and I are practising hard and with the new improved Mr Smith feel confident that we can do better.

Looking forward to Phase 2!

Cheers,

Big Moose

Congratulations to Fenric and Biggles for the great achievments.

Fenric! not very sportsmanlike to come in and win in your first competition huh? the "old" ones might feel discuraged! No no - great flying Fenric.

Biggles. You really know how to bump down the right place! Very nicely done.

But remember guys. Im in for the second half, so beware. Beware of the old, rusty Ole: Im going for top seven, I assure you of that.

Regards
Ole Andreasen, Denmark

Thanks all. sniff  This tremendous honour only goes to prove that anything's possible... especially if you practice, work hard, and have a set of photographs of the judges with some ducks.

See you all in Atari....
