Hi S/L

I know that one can create ones own fsu files for a/c not already in the fsfs hangar and this is great, however you cannot upload your scores and when touring with others this is a pain.

Is it possible to make bids for a/c to be added to the Hangar and is it possible to submit the relevant info required to make these files?

If it is, in what format would you require it?

I have cribbed from a previous post where two fsr files were enclosed, example below

Biggles.

I know you adressed this to SL but I thought I might throw my two cents in. And by the way - whats it with all your slashes? S/L, A/C, A/P, why do you make slashes all the time - is there something I dont understand here? I mean - SL, AC, and AP...... whats wrong with that?

Anyway - back to your post about .fsu/.fsr files (hey I made a slash myself...)

What you do is make a correct .fsu file (unlike the ones I did for the Otter) and just upload that file in a post to SL. then the FSInventions guys will make it into a .fsr file when they do the next batch of aircrafts.

However I know for a fact that the creation of the .fsr files is a complicated and time consuming process, so they cannot just make them all the time, unfortunately!!!

I will have my correct Otter file ready during the weekend, and if you make a correct one for the Bushhawk, then maybe we could ask SL if they could make an exception and do the two ones into .fsr files.

BUT. It is not impossible to use the Hawk in the Sweet&Sour tour even if it hasn't been made into a .fsr file. Its true that you cannot submit scores to the web, but we can still post our scores (along with more screens this time I hope) and in the end we can exchange the roster file, so we can check each other out for possible blunders.

So by all means, use the Bushhawk. Its a great plane - I have it myself, and I consider using it too.

As usual - Ole is prompt and correct!

Please go ahead and submit the files you create and we really will add them as FSRs when we can, but as there is so much going on in the back room ( and Sinister Lab ) at present, I have to say that it will be a little while before we produce the next batch of FSRs.

Remember that you can create the FSU data either by copying and editing an existing FSU or FSR file, and finally naming it FSU, but this is a delicate process - you'd better be careful...

However - you can of course, as described in the manual - do the entire thing in FSFS at the aircraft page once you have connected to the aircraft you want to create the file for.

It's all described in the manual and the values are all at the aircraft page inside FSFS.

As regards Biggles' Slashes... well Ole, that's all part of the wonder and mystery of literary expression in English... They are sometimes used to contract a word such as aircraft, where a.c. or ac. would not make sense.

But then - to make things even more interesting, with the coming of the information age, language really is taking some odd turns and we can use the term AP as relates to aviation and everyone knows (I think!) what we mean. No slashes, no periods - just AP. Hmmmm - I'm starting to sound like a frustrated English teacher...

My dear friend Ole

As a final nail in the coffin that is the English "/"

Here is a page from RAF Form 1767 RAF Aircrew Flying Log Book, Section 4

Note: Column 3  is headed "Type of A/C"

Anyway "ac" stands for alternating current or air conditioning,  doesn't it?

If your a good boy Ole I'll let you read Section 3 of my Log Book where all the exciting stuff is (eg chasing Russians etc)

But seriously ----thanks for your help and wilco (will comply) regarding the fsu file
