Having trouble getting fsfs to recognise the Otter. Smithy keeps saying "lets raise the gear"

I've checked the a/c folder in fsfs & I have all three variants of the Twin Otter in it.

Any thoughts kind people out there

Biggles.

Yes there is a problem with the Twin Otter .fsr file. And I must admit, red-faced that I am the one who did the .fsu files on the Otter. I have tested them, but somehow in between testing and submitting, I have done bad things, OR I have mixed the original auto-generated aircraft files, that I made into .fsu files and then began work on them, up with the finished ones, and submitting the wrong ones - and deleted the right ones.... ;-(

I am in a (slow) process of altering them (again) and testing - and then re-submitting them, so we can have them done correctly.

I apologize to you Biggles, to other Otter owners that wants to use it here, and to FSInventions for making such a crock of the .fsu file(s).

Ole Andreasen, Denmark

Hi Ole

If only we were all perfect. Of course your apology is accepted and also Felix has been admonished for trespassing in areas that he should not have.    In his defence he says that he was only getting in a little practice for the forthcoming Sydney to Singapore tour

Felix must learn that patience is a virtue

Biggles

PS: Did you know that Joe has completed ALL his r/w files for Phase 1 of the tour?  He needs watching  [This post copied to Felix]

Of course if the FSR file has a problem, you can always fly using the FSU file (which you can edit via FSFS) instead.

Make a note of the values at the aircraft screen for the plane. Then...

quit FSFS and rename the FSR file to something else and then restart FSFS and just put the values you want into the aircraft screen of FSFS and save them.

This will mean you have a FSU file with values you want and will be able to go flying. (Sounds like the FSR indicates retractable gear and should not from what you are saying.)

But of course - you will not be able to submit your scores with the FSU based aircraft.

All explained in the manual. Hope this helps.
