yesterday received a e-mail from you about updating from my version of flight school version 1.9.2 that i purchased last august to 2.20 . i will be retiring in a week and will then have plenty of time on my hand to fly.

please explain what i need to do to update my version to 2.2. Is it only the demo that is free or do I need to purchase the whole upgrade? I am confused by the ad because it says "register the latest demo".

Hi there - thanks for your interest.

Our new product, following in the tradition of FSFlyingSchool Classic (v 1.9.2) is FSFlyingSchool2009.

Owners of any version of FSFlyingSchool (v 1.9.2 or earlier) can upgrade to FSFlyingSchool2009 for $17.45 this weekend. The normal full price of FSFlyingSchool2009 is $39.95.

The actual process of upgrading involves downloading and trying out the free demo - then you can purchase it if you wish. I would recommend that you may wish to consider installing FSFlyingSchool2009 demo at a different location on your PC, so as not to interfere with your existing FSFlyingSchool. That way if you decide that you do not want to use FSFlyingSchool2009, you have not changed your original installation.

Note that there is no need to upgrade from FSFlyingSchool to FSFlyingSchool2009 as FSFlyingSchool Classic (v 1.9.2) is still supported by FSInventions. But if you want the features FSFlyingSchool2009 then it would be worth your while to take a look at the free demo.

The features of the two programs are compared here.

The email we sent out also refers to the fact that owners of FSFlyingSchool2009 can upgrade to the latest version of the product for free. This follows the tradition set by FSFlyingSchool.

The actual text says:

Big news for existing owners of FSFlyingSchool2009! Free Upgrade to FSFlyingSchool2009 version 2.20. If you have FSFlyingSchool2009 you'll want to upgrade to the latest version for free. Just download, install and register the latest demo from our site.
