Hello,

Newbie here - did I miss something in the manual?

I'm cruising along on a short flight plan (KMNI -> KCHS) and the instructor asks me two questions - WHAT IS THE ALTITUDE OF THE AIRPORT YOU WILL LAND AT and WHAT IS AN ALTERNATE AIRPORT TO LAND AT. He asks this more than once.

Is this idle chatter or is it filled in somewhere?

Thanks in advance,

Ron Sagel

Hi Ron:

Thanks for the feedback - the instructor is asking general questions about the flight, on the basis that the pilot should know the altitude of the destination airport and should always be thinking about where an emergency landing might be performed.

These questions are indeed passive in the sense that the FSFlyingSchool pilot cannot... yet... answer the instructor's questions and the instructor will indeed fire off these questions every so often to keep the pilot thinking in these terms.

FSFlyingSchool can be configured to suit the pilot's preferences - the pilot can turn off this feature of the software if preferred.
