When I fly in mountain terrain, I always wish I could have an exact knowledge of how high I am, above ground level. I can see the altitude above sea level all the time, but Smith seems to know all the time the altitude AGL.

So I would really really like an option to have him spill that info to me. Say like press ctrl-shift-5, and Smith says "your current altitude is xxxx feet AGL"

Ole Andreasen, Denmark

As an absolute novice, I would appreciate advice concerning recommended altitude/speed when reaching ILS approach for any given airport/glideslope.  Save me "chasing the needles".   A button-mapping facility within fsfs would be nice, so that I could map "advance to next stage", etc. to my yoke.

All the best, Andy

Thanks to everyone who is joining in on this great effort.

We have already done work on several of the items voted for in the POLL and hope to have them in the next free update of FSFS!

So please keep 'em comin'... we are listening.

Ole and Andy - great ideas!

As for Andy's question about the yoke - I know yoke mapping has been done with the CH and I dare say the Saitek too, without any extra new logic in FSFS.

Can you folks share your techniques with Andy?

Hi again....

Would it be possible to have some positive chatter from the instructor when you are actually ON the glideslope?  At the moment, some of my approaches are a bit of a rollercoaster.  The aircraft I fly, a Cessna 152II, only has runway alignment instrumentation, no glideslope indicator. It can be a bit frustrating keep flying THROUGH the glideslope..

Cheers, Andy

Excellent point. We are looking at this ourselves and have to be careful with it or otherwise the instructor will never shut up, and also, those lucky folks with a GS indicator will think it tiresome and redundant.

But - in moderation this is a splendid idea and there is no reason we can't do the same for LOC as well as GS, and approach speed and flaps and... what have you started...?!

Love it - keep it coming. The way to have fabulous software is to have great ideas first. Great ideas come from having lots of ideas and keeping the best ones.

Thanks again.
