hi when i am taking off the person always says 'watch you taxi speed if you are ready to take off then tell me' does anyone know how to tell him. any help would be appreciated Hi jordanh When you are taxiing you must do it in a speed below 25 knots. At about 21 knots the instructor will begin to tell you to watch your taxispeed. and if you continue to increase speed, then at 25 he will tell you the line you mentioned - and start to reduce your points. So just keep it below 25 knots. Hope its useful... Happy flying and safe landings.

In order to let your instructor know whether you are taxiing, taking off, cruising or landing, you need to understand the "flight modes" of the program - this is fully explained in the manual. They can be triggered automatically or controlled manually from the keyboard. Understanding them is essential to your enjoyment of FSFlyingSchool. Please let us know how you get on!

I have the exact same frustration with FSFS2009 (and old version as well). I can only sometimes "advance" the mode to "takeoff" by pressing Ctr Shift Z (Ctr Shft 1) but that doesn't always work, and I get yelled at and loose points for taxiing "too fast" when I am taking off (and scolded for using flaps). It's a "crapshoot" whether it will work for me. Those keys (ctr shft Z/1) are not mapped anywhere else in FSX or FSUIPC or any of my peripherals. I may map it to my yoke thru FSUIPC and see if that solves the "advance" (keyboard) problem. Hey, btw...does anyone know how I can have my copilots voice only through my headphones like VoxAtc and CC allows (FSX sounds "Voice" set to headphones)? And all my engines and environment sounds etc...are set thru the speakers (FSX sound setting to internal sound card). Thanks, Ken

Ken: Glad to hear your registration is working fine. The extra text that was at the end of your posts was in the 'signature' section of your user profile. As you indicated that you did not write it we have deleted it for you.

I may map it to my yoke thru FSUIPC and see if that solves the "advance" (keyboard) problem.Let me try to give all the tips I can in one go: 1. Do not use other software at the same time which does clever things with keystrokes such as Camtasia, SnagIt, Thrustmaster HOTAS, etc. 2. Always get your plane on the ground and ready to fly before launching the FSFS program. This means - before you start the FSFS computer program. Not before you press connect - before you start it. Some users even quit FSFS after each flight has ended. 3. The FSFS keys will not work when the FSX ATC window is on the screen. Neither do several of the standard FSX keys... 4. FSFS works fine with the vast majority of FS add-ons but it may not work with all of them on any given PC. If you have problems, try running without an add-on and see if you can isolate which one is conflicting with FSFS. 5. Some users have reported key commands being repeated when they are running WideFS. FSFS is not guaranteed to work with WideFS - we are looking at this. 6. If FSFS is started up many times during a single sessison of FSX (i.e. FSX is running the whole time but FSFS is started and quit and started over and over) it may eventually become necessary to quit FSX and FSFS and then launch FSX again. If anyone else has any other thoughts or tips on this - please join in! >> Hey, btw...does anyone know how I can have my copilots voice only through my headphones like VoxAtc and CC allows (FSX sounds "Voice" set to headphones)? And all my engines and environment sounds etc...are set thru the speakers (FSX sound setting to internal sound card). FSFS sound likes to come through a single default Windows 'voice output' setting on the PC. It may be possible that you would be able to hear it from a different output device, but this is not supported by us at present. A small number of users have found that if they have more than one Windows voice output device, they cannot hear FSFS sound at all. This has been solved by disabling the other Windows voice output devices.
