I'm able as always now to get the flight state to advance from taxi to takeoff to cruise with no problem with the CTRL+SHIFT+Z, but it refuse to recognize when I try to shift from cruise to landing mode. Multiple key presses don't do it. I'm flying part of my flight with the autopilot on, and make sure that I disconnect it before trying to shift to landing mode.

1. I don't know if you've mentioned this before - are you using any kind of networked setup for your simulator? 2. Are you using any other kind of keystroke related software, such as Fraps, Camtasia, Thrustmaster Cougar, SnagIt, etc? 3. Has this problem just now started? Has it been happening on this PC the whole time? 4. Do the normal AND the alternate keys not work at this stage of the flight? 5. Do the other key combinations such as Ctrl Shift D work? Please let us know...

I'm not sure, but I think that I'm getting closer to figuring this out on my computer. As you can see, I've got the dual monitors running. When I click on something, i.e. gps on the right monitor, the commands don't work. When I click back on the cockpit display, they do. Perhaps the FSFS loses window focus. I have the same problem when I'm running radar contact. Could this be it? Another test flight to check.

Yes. You have to be at the main FS window, for the commands from FSFS to work.

I just did a quick flight to test my theory, and sure enough - - - Have to be in the main window. Thanks Ole for your response. looks like we got there at the same time.
