Hi all.

As I can't find my posting I have to start a new thread. First of all a BIG thank you to Jeff who took the time to answer my newbie questions in private mails, something I'm NOT used to when posting questions on a "support forum". In a very short time he gave me some idéas what to do and I think we have solved the problems.

Let me tell you this, as I think it might be imortant for other simmers to understand what I want to say. I'm a Swede now living in Spain, 60+ an retiered lawyer. I started with FS98 via all versions to FSX + addpack that I use today. I'm still a beginner as my simming has been very sparse, as my company needed all my attention. Now in Spain with all the time to do what I like to do I'm flying about 5-6 hours a day, sometimes more, I have invested a lot of money in hardware (yokes-quadrants-pedals, TH2GO for 3 widescreens) and in add on airplanes/scenerys. After 6 months I have been flying more than 1000 hours and almost 500 online (VATSIM) mostly with the Boeing 737/747/MD11 (WILCO/PMDG) and now trying to convert to Airbus. I started by doing ALL the FSX lessons before I dared to take the step to "real" flying and I'm still felling that I'm a newbie.

Why am I telling you this? Who the h....l is interested!!!! Well my point is that I think I have been around a while and have some experience from business life (I'm a business lawyer) and I have had a LOT of experience from companies sellig add ons for FS BUT I have NEVER experienced a customer service that I have been offered from the staff that have created the FSFlyingSchool!!! I'm NOT giving an opinion about the product itself, that's for pros to do as I'm not experienced enough yet to do that, but for me a product is not better than it's support and please beleive me, here we have something really special.

Sorry for this long posting but I just had to share my experience when it comes to custom support.

Again Jeff, a BIG thanks for your help and patience.

Hey Jack J Jackson. (good that you wrote the whole name - I was thinking you stuttered in writing... - sorry bad joke)

You are you telling this to? To everyone.... This is a fantastic post. What a boost to other new pilots who may feel a little intimidated by all the things to do, and all the terms to learn. I can seem very heavy to get involved, but your story is just the kind that can encourage those to push on and get involved.

And the initial reason for your post - well I second that too. Totally. FsInventions are a great bunch of guys. Always there, and always on their toes to help anybody out of their misery... eh in a friendly manner that is!

Please keep in here JJJackson and post what you experience in FSFlyingSchool. It´s great reading.

Regards
Ole Andreasen, Denmark

Jack:

Many thanks for your kind words about our support. We work hard to make the product the best it can be and also to make sure that when folks get into trouble, we try to help get them out of it.

Flight Simulation software can be a very complex set of variables to juggle, with different operating systems, SPs, versions of Flight Simulator, hardware, networks, add-on products, etc.

For the vast majority of people, they just plug in an play, but some folks will always have problems to solve and questions to ask.

In addition, FSFlyingSchool attracts a very broad range of people, from complete novices to retired pilots. This requires a whole level of support in itself as one user's 'easy' is another user's 'hard'. This is made more complex by the fact that different folks expect the product to do different things - which is why I always say "Try the free demo first... and... Read the free manual first..."

So thanks again - it's always great to hear from people here in the forum when they are happy about something - not just when they are having problems!
