Pilot VonStalhein has broken all records, not once, but twice in a spiffy FSX Beech Baron 58. This ace now holds the top 2 scores on the circuits table. It is not easy to score this high when flying circuits, which are a very demanding test of precision airmanship in FSFlyingSchool. So - here's to a great performance by this impressive pilot. Who can catch up now...? 12 Nov 2008 10:38PM FSX Beech Baron 58 Paint1 Score:104.70 12 Nov 2008 11:12PM FSX Beech Baron 58 Paint1 Score:104.70

Dear Mr. VonStalhein That is one impressive achievement. I congratulate you on the excellent double highscore. Well done. Now I have to hunt for a top 3 again

I don´t believe it. VonStalhein just keeps pushing the limits for circuitscores. Now the highscore is - 118.74! Amazing!

Well, thanks, guys. To be honest, I'm shocked. I didn't set out to break any records. When I finished those circuits I merely thought, "Not bad, might as well submit them." But, records are meant to be broken, and I'm happy to have raised the bar a little bit. I'm really having more fun with the program, now. A couple of days ago I got my frame rate problems sorted out, and my scores have improved as a result. I had been over-controlling due to framerate-related lag! I had been flying with 7 to 15 FR, with wild fluctuations, stutters. I made some sacrifices in the visuals department and now have a somewhat steady 30+, even with weather and night flying.

Excellent work - we're all impressed. Yes - the aircraft is a lot easier to control with a good frame rate - the accepted guideline in the hobby seems to be that if you want to look at beautiful things, turn the sliders up, but if you want to practice realistic flying, you probably have to slide them down a little. I imagine that with scores like this you have at least a yoke and perhaps pedals?

I use the old original Flightstick (I'm a lefty), and CH Pro pedals which I've had for about 12 years now. I used to have the 90's era CH Flight Yoke but didn't really like it. I believe the newer ones have improved, and no longer have the "centering detente" and spring loading that the old one had. I'll have to take a look at the new ones.
