If you're really bored, translate from English to the foreign language and then translate that back into English.

Pretty soon you'll end up with something like Monty Python's famous:

"My hovercraft is full of eels!"

Ole's English is so good that it's easy for me to forget that he is not a native speaker. I see what he means entirely.

Sometimes, it doesn't pay to 'try' and make a joke in another language.

For example, one would NEVER offer a WHITE gift to a Chinese. (It's the colour of death)

And we say 'son of a bitch' as a statement of frustration....(where as it can also be
said 'to' a person as an insult)

So, I sincerely hope no one took offense. If they did, I apologize, as none was ever intended.

Hey I got the idea too, but what came out in Danish was:

"Son in a complaint, forgot over to sharpen me seatbelt!"  Talk about getting lost in translation!
