SL, please explain this one to me of what I did wrong?  I don't understand at all my landing score.  I had my radio tuned to runway 31.  It even shows that it was tuned to I-PNO above, with is Runway 31 and my frequency was 111.95.  I made sure of it.  And I almost positive I heard Mr. Smith say your Nav 1 is tuned to Runway 31, heading 315....

Here's a pic also....I'm confused now?  And of course I can't figure out what I'm doing with the pic's but it as a heading of 315 in the small print!

I'm not sure about the rapid descent part as well, because I was expecting to nail a great score only to be robbed by Mr. Smith.  I'm pissed now!

Joe. Several things:

Why on earth use autopilot on such a short trip? it costs an arm and a leg of your points! Had you not used AP your landingscore would have been.... well... almost 10!

I see that it says "No glideslope information was available on visual approach" "Visual approach" means that your ILS was not set. When you set the freq. at 111.95, did you make it active? you can only change freq. that is NOT active, so you have to switch the two set of numbers.

Also I see no runway alignment on touchdown, and throttles forward. That costs points as well.

Usually it is not Mr.Smith who is the bad guy, he just reports what we do wrong.

Here's a pic also....I'm confused now? And of course I can't figure out what I'm doing with the pic's but it as a heading of 315 in the small print!

You managed great on the screenshot. You can just upload more (one by one). I really want to see your flights.

I'm not sure about the rapid descent part as well, because I was expecting to nail a great score only to be robbed by Mr. Smith. I'm pissed now!

I seem to always descent very early, so I come in below the glideslope. Did Mr.Smith say anything about you being too high?, or maybe you just descended shortly but fiercely. He sees it all you know!

I agree with everything you said except for the not having my ILS radio tuned.  The very top of of the log showed I was tuned to IPNO.  I fly with autopilot up until about I'm closing in on final, then I turn off everything and come in "hot".  I thought I remember saying that if you fly with autopilot for longer than 10 seconds, you get that message anyway?

Everything else, I agreed with Mr. Smith.

Back to drawing board, I'm sure it's something I did, but it miffs me.  I've done exactly the same stuff on the other landings, so I have to figure it out.  I know I've got to remember to do stuff "outloud" to remember shutting off power, etc.

I know one thing, if you have to make "sharp" turns with the airplane during taxiing, there is a fine line.  I'm barely putting along, and I still get it, but I'll work on it.

[EDIT] - After a long night sleep to think about it, I may have never told Mr. Smith that I was on "landing" mode.  I turned off that feature because I was tired of him.  In my mind I thought I did, but thinking it over, I may have forgot to, so all of this may be a moot point, because I'm an idiot.    I'd almost bet on it now!  The idiot part of course.    Every time I get what I think is going to be a great score for me....pow.  Another setback for Joe Mini WWT's.  Sure am glad this is simulators.

Joe

Did you remember to set your NAV1 OBS dial to the runway heading? You have to do that ILS or not. If you didn´t it´s on 340 and you´re s... out of luck!

I still don´t understand the Autopilot thing. You can easily fly 200 NM by hand, as good as the AP. and like I said; it´s good points saved!

Just keep it up. We will get better the both of us in the next 8 months!

Joe

See ya.

Yes I did....I can almost bank on I forgot to tell Mr. Smith I was landing....I forgot to push the magic buttons (period).  I keep forgetting the little stuff every freakin' flight!  I'm trying to get good screen shots, fly, remember to do this, remember to do that....

I still don´t understand the Autopilot thing. You can easily fly 200 NM by hand, as good as the AP. and like I said; it´s good points saved!

Ok, I'm not the greatest with setting up a B737 and heavy planes when it comes to trimming and such.  I'll be honest.  So what do I go and do?  I flew my flight from Chattanooga, TN to Atlanta, GA (one of busiest airports in US) WITHOUT Autopilot.  So my surprise, I actually did pretty well.  My landing score sucked, but I managed my best flight score ever with a 127.80 with a ton of errors ....so go figure.  Details coming tonight.  We are going to the movies, so I'll be flying later this evening.

Just keep it up. We will get better the both of us in the next 8 months!

Game on Dude....I'm back in the race and my confidence growing on every flight!

Joe

See ya.

P.S.  I'm not in total agreement with my taxiing skills that Mr. Smith says I'm wild and recklass.  In fact, sometimes I think he's just picking on me, because I'm not speeding, I just think when you have to make a 90 degree turn, if you are not doing 5 mph, he's gonna gig me.  That's just my opinion, but I'll figure out the software.

Joe:

If you fly the standard FSX mission "Hawaiian checkout" and you taxi just a little more than 5 miles/H you will hear the Hawaiian tourguide tell you: "Don´t taxi any faster than you can walk"
I feel that 5 miles is a dread too, but what can you do? I must find something on the net, about taxispeeds, but I feel that once again, I will stand corrected...

I am on a short familytrip from Monday morning and until Wednesday evening, so There will be nothing from me for awhile. Have fun and, you know... straighten up and fly right! (used that one already, but what the h...)
