I'm absolutely a 'newbie' to FS Flying School, and I have a question, so please bear with me.

During my inaugural (sp) flight from O'hare to Midway, my instructor said "No flaps during taxi" (thank you)
but, after I received & confirmed "IFR" takeoff clearance - the instructor kept telling me "Taxiing too fast" and
eventually asked "Are you taking off ?".

Is this the correct function ? Or did I miss a lesson ? (my dog ate my homework !!)

Cheers
Biggles

You and flight instructor need to be on same page....You need to press the Shift-Ctrl-Z to advance to takeoff mode, then you won't hear those messages.

As Squadron Leader has told me many times, check out the manual about advancing and going backwards between legs of flight...

Thanks muchly for the info. I thought I'd pressed the CTRL-SHIFT-Z; But it's very possible I missed it.
(At this point, rather obvious I missed it) When I reload to the new computer; I will give it another try.

Cheers

Hi there Biggles.

Great to see yet a pilot fiddling with FSFlyingschool. Welcome to!

You just get your new computer going, and do some more FSFlyingschool flights. It´s just the greatest fun. Then come back in here and tell us what you think. If you need any help or advice at all, or just feel like chatting, don´t hesitate to post. SquadronLeader knows it all, and the rest of us just try to squeeze our points of view in between.

And as JoeMini so correctly said, glance at the manual. It will tell you absolutely the most... I have mine printed out and kept near by, when I fly.

Happy flying

Hey Biggles,

It's nothing....no matter how many times I read it, I kept pressing the Ctrl-ALT-Z instead of Shift - Ctrl - Z for the longest time and couldn't figure why it didn't work?

Good Luck!

JoeMini:

I think that's exactly what I did (CTRL-ALT-Z) rather than CTRL-SHIFT-Z !!
Manual is printed, and in my Flight Sim "Book", (along with printed airport diagrams).

Just heard that my 'NEW' computer has been shipped !!!

Thanks
Biggles

Ole:

Not sure I'm ready for 'Around the World' (just yet). Eventually ? Possibly.

I've logged a couple hundred hours, mostly Daylight VFR in a Cessna 172,
but only as time permits - until I complete the sale of my business, and 'retire'.

I fly around British Columbia (home port CYVR), and with the addition of scenery
packs, am revelling in it's natural beauty.

My goal is to use FS Flyingschool to become more proficient, and more professional at
flying FS/X.

Thanks for asking, and keep up the great work.

Biggles

Biggles'll go for it in the end - I think.

We'll find him a Sopwith Camel and a bad guy to chase and he'll be off like a shot...
