If you look in the fsinsider.com you will find a post concerning RC-flying in FSX. see here.

http://www.fsinsider.com/freeflight/Pages/PracticingRCModelFlyinginFlightSim.aspx

Now - would FSFS not be the perfect tool for practicing that? Of course FSFS is not designed for the acrobatics normally associated with RC-flying, but ordinary straight flying in RC is also very important, and here you could stand on the ground, (or using the Tower View at least) and still having Mr. Smith or one of the other instructors actually sitting in the cockpit of your "RC-plane" in FSX. He would look out the windshield and comment down to you (in front of the monitor)

That would be a huge advantage to only having the visual contact with your plane. You could learn to fly proper.

Does this make any sense? Has anybody tried that combination. Give it a go, and tell me how you liked it. Maybe we even ask for a special "RC-instructor" in a future release of FSFS! ;-)

And there's no reason that the aircraft data for specific planes might not be customized to behaving like an RC aircraft!

Also - I believe work has been done on real RC aircraft as add-ons for FSX - mentioned in the Computer Pilot articles perhaps...

Does anyone know much about that?

I mention this because one can imagine that the weight, stall speeds and CG for instance of an RC bird would be very much different from a real plane.

Hmmm - a fascinating area to explore...

Hey, I started this thread, and now it´s down to page 2, (and we all know that not many get to page two) so I will just bring it up again, so that new people could get at it.

FSFlyingschool as a tool for practicing RC flying in FSX. Possibilities are endless....

Try it out and rapport back.
