I try to add Ikarus C42 to FSFlyingschool. How I should set flaps in fsu-file when there is positive value when flaps are fully retracted?
Ikarus settings in acf-file (aircraft settings in x-plane) are
P acf/_flap1_dn/0 3.0
P acf/_flap1_dn/1 12.0
P acf/_flap1_dn/2 32.0
P acf/_flap1_dn/3 11.0
I think problem may be that acf/_flap1_dn/0 is not zero. My xpvFlyteAir_IkarusC42.fsu content is
[flaps.0]
flaps-position.1=13
flaps-position.2=32
flaps-position.3=0
flaps-position.4=0
flaps-position.5=0
flaps-position.6=0
flaps-position.7=0
flaps-position.8=0
flaps-position.9=0
[reference speeds]
IASTooFastForFlaps0=75
IASTooFastForFlaps1=70
IASTooFastForFlaps2=0
IASTooFastForFlaps3=0
IASTooFastForFlaps4=0
IASTooFastForFlaps5=0
IASTooFastForFlaps6=0
IASTooFastForFlaps7=0
IASTooFastForFlaps8=0
IASStallCruise=42
IASStallLanding=32
MaxGearExtension=0
[misc settings]
RetractableGear=0
FlapsDownDuringTaxi=0
Spoilers=0
FloatPlane=0
I tried set flaps-position.0=3 too, but I afraid there is no way to set position when flaps are up.
This is my first try to add new plane to FS Flying School.

Hi Draco76:
>> This is my first try to add new plane to FS Flying School.
This is most unfortunate - the data for this plane in the .acf means that its flaps are never up, and as a result the instructor will not only be commenting on the flap speed but also will comment in many situations regarding the pilot having flaps down when they should not be down.
My understanding is that the real plane has a flaps position where the flaps are entirely up.
This .acf data is of course very unusual - you will be unlikely to encounter this problem with other planes.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Preston,
Thank you for quick response. Would be possible to add flaps-position.0 setting to FS Flying School? I don't know if other aircraft use positive values in cruise flaps, but this vFlyte C42 is best ultra light I know in X-Plane. And it is very common school ultra light.
What I read the C42 manual it says cruise flaps are -5 degrees (+/- 1 degree). I do not know why there is positive value in vFlyteAir's C42.

Hi Draco76:
Just to help - my name is Jeff.
The positive value for the lowest flap setting in the .acf is a problem because FSFlyingSchool is designed on the basis that cruising is done with flaps fully retracted and several sections of its logic are based on this.
It may be practical in a future version of FSFlyingSchool for an exception to be indicated by the pilot along the lines of
"Aircraft has positive flaps even when cruising?" [x]

Is this fixed in 2022 version or is this rejected? I still use older 2021 version.
