i just bought FSFS 2019 Pro for FSX (and FS2004). I'm having a real problem with the instructor constantly saying "runway at heading xxx degrees" it happens incessantly - startup, taxiing, takeoff, climb, cruise, etc. He won't stop saying it no matter what. it is making this add-on unusable. i have pressed "D", set heading bug to heading he is saying, ran makerwy.exe. Nothing seems to work. the only other option is turn off instructor talking which defeats the whole purpose of this add-on. Please help.
thanks

Hi ikedaman:
This is most puzzling - it is certainly not something I can recall in 15 years of FSFlyingSchool - I am sure we can solve it for you.
The most likely candidate is that you have voice commands turned on inside FSFlyingSchool and the microphone is hearing something which leads to this constant response from FSFlyingSchool.
If you are not using voice command then this becomes more mysterious.
>> "runway at heading xxx degrees"
1. Can you tell me exactly what is being said (I imagine "xxx" in your example is used as a place marker for an actual number).
2. Does this occur at all airports?
3. Which version (full version number) of simulator are you using?
4. Is the heading given the heading of a nearby runway?

Thanks for your quick response.
I am not using voice commands - I do not have a microphone. I am using fsx boxed with sp1 and 2. It just occurred at kogd in fsx ("heading at runway 074 degrees" - exact words) using the Learjet 45 and at KSLC in the Carenado C182T. It is still happening in fs2004 at KEKO in the Baron 58 and KLOL in the Carenado 152. the only thing different in the degrees - e.g. at KLOL 024 and at KSLC 031. Right now I am at 7300 ft over KLOL in the Carenado 152 in fs2004 and the instructor is now saying "heading at runway 144 degrees". He has changed from 024 to 144 degrees.
I really like FSFS but as you can imagine to hear this constantly throughout the whole flight leaves me frustrated to say the least.

Hi ikedaman:
First thing - this is not something other people are reporting - which is good - it means there is something unique about the configuration of the PC that we can find and solve OR it is something unusual about the way FSFlyingSchool is being used.
1. Do you have any other add-ons for either simulator that are not ordinary like airports and planes?
2. Regardless of whether a microphone is connected please confirm that the voice command options in FSFlyingSchool are OFF.
3. Please try turning off all optional features of FSFlyingSchool and then systematically turn them back on so we can see if we can spot the problem.
4. I think earlier today your message mentioned that it was not happening for a while? Was that the case? What was the plane, airport and simulator?

It started happening again in fs2004 with the last 2 flights.
I will double check voice commands are turned off.
I will uncheck all check boxes on pilot page and settings page.

I am glad you asked me to recheck whether I had voice commands turned on. It was. I think my mouse or the hat switch - both of which I use constantly - was sending the runway heading voice command. That is why I was hearing it throughout all phases of flight.
Thank you for responding to my problem with valuable suggestions.
And thank you for developing this software.
I will chalk this up to "pilot error" (me ).
Sincerely,
Ikedaman
