Hello Please forgive these questions - as you'll soon realise, I'm deeply stupid! I purchased FS Flying school and then discovered that I'd have to download a version for FSX and pay for it if I want all the options. Can you please tell me, in simple terms, where I find the link for paying the second payment - I just cannot find it. Secondly I'm loving the program but am frustrated as it does not seem to know when I'm finished taxiing and taking off. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. For example: If I am parked at stand in Carlisle airport and go through the whole ATC bit getting various permissions to taxi and then to take off - when I'm going down the runway I get accused of taxiing too fast and of having my flaps up - when really I'm taxiing. How do I tell the software please? Having embarrassed myself I'll now go and get more zeros for landing!!!! regards and thanks Aidan

Welcome to the forum Aidan! >> I purchased FS Flying school and then discovered that I'd have to download a version for FSX and pay for it if I want all the options. Can you please tell me, in simple terms, where I find the link for paying the second payment - I just cannot find it. Please rest assured that there is no reason to buy anything extra in order to use FSFlyingSchool. You do need FSUIPC installed on your PC, but that is the free version. You can buy it if you want to, but you do not need to in order to use FSFlyingSchool with all its features. FSUIPC is not our product, but it is an award winning program and has lots of great features which are worth paying for. But once again - you do not need to pay for it in order to use FSFlyingSchool. This is all explained in the manual which I urge you to read as it will greatly increase your enjoyment of FSFlyingSchool. But for a fast track - you need to 'advance the flight mode' which means that you need to tell the instructor that you are about to take off. Get lined up on the runway first and then press Ctrl Shift Z or Ctrl Shift 1 to let the instructor know that you are ready to move to the next phase of your flight (takeoff). The phases are: Taxi Takeoff Cruise Landing
Please see the manual for full details including how FSFlyingSchool will detect most of these modes automatically. >> Having embarrassed myself I'll now go and get more zeros for landing!!!! We look forward to seeing some high scores on the web tables once you know what FSFS is looking for...

Many thanks for a prompt reply - regarding the manual - this I feel has been my problem. I have been reading the manual entitled FSUIPC4 user guide which, for the most part, is meaningless to one such as me! I've just found the other manual so I need a good read! Thanks for sorting that one out. kind regards Aidan

I was looking forward to trying the demo, but every time I try to "Connect" or try "Listen to Instructor" with FS9 running I receive the following error message and FSFS ends:
Run-time error 2147467259(80004005) Unable to play the file on the device
If I start FSFS without FS9 running, I can "Listen to Instructor" without any problems.
I have updated FSUIPC to the latest but no joy. :-(
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Flashjj

This is likely to be related to unusual sound equipment or an unusual sound configuration on the PC. Some users have reported complications with USB headphones. Can you think of anything about the PC in question which is unusual in the sound department? Do you have any other programs running at the same time which involve producing or reading sound in some primary way, such as (just examples) VOIP or Skype or Camtasia?
