FSFS is not recognizing my rudder checks but it recognizes all other checks. Anybody else having this problem? Thanks:

Hi snaxx45:

In general, the rudder check in FSFlyingSchool works fine, but we do find that once in a while an issue can occur - and it depends on...

- Which plane is in use - some aircraft from some publishers feed the simulator very small data changes (ranges of rudder movement) when the rudder is moved and so the instructor does not get the signal from the simulator that he/she is expecting.

- Which hardware is in use - some pedals or joysticks from some manufacturers feed the simulator very small data changes (ranges of rudder movement) when the rudder is moved and so the instructor does not get the signal from the simulator that he/she is expecting.

If you get this all the time with all planes, it is of course most likely to be the hardware which is the problem.

If it happens with certain specific planes - please let us know which are involved and who publishes them and their version numbers, so that we can see if we can make an adjustment to the range of movement expected in a future release of FSFlyingSchool.

Hi
I'm in a A2A Accu-Sim C172 Trainer. Other aircraft rudders work fine.
FSFlyingSchool PRO 2017 Prepar3D v 3

Thanks!

Hi snaxx45:

Thanks for the data.

OK - there's something about the A2A c172 with P3D on your PC.

We've had no general reports of issues with this plane with P3D - I'd like to get some more information so we can see what we can do in a future update.

Are you using a rudder controller of any type?

Which version of P3D? Full version number please.

Which version of the A2A c172? Full version number of the published aircraft please.

Have you adjusted rudder settings within P3D?

Please let me know.

Hi! I figured it out. Somehow, when I changed instructors, from Mr Smith to Mr. Mitchell(sweet guy, by the way ) the rudder started working? I use Saitek rudders. The version is Accu-Sim v.2.0. P3D version is P3D v3. So I guess I fixed my own problem

Hi snaxx45:

Thanks for the detailed report - it's all very useful data.

Note that some of the latest features in FSFlyingSchool function only when Mr Smith is the instructor - he is the 'chief instructor' so if you want everything FSFlyingSchool has to offer - you need to be in a plane with him.

The other instructors are all very good, helpful folks, but they will not have anywhere near as much to say as Mr Smith.

Mr Smith alone will ask you specifically to perform a rudder check when you are in taxi mode. He takes his time, but he will keep asking for it until you do it.

Once you are airborne and in cruise mode, he will comment on whether you checked the rudder... or did not check the rudder...

The other instructors will certainly advise you that it is a good idea to check the correct function of your ailerons, elevator and rudder, and will confirm when you do, but they will NOT do what I just described above.

You're very welcome! I guess from now on, I'll be using Mr. Smith....my man
