Hi folks!
I'm very happy to see that Taxiway Tutor, both for FSX/FS2004 and for P3Dv3, has been warmly received by our pilots and is proving to be very popular.
Indeed, there are very few add-ons for Flight Simulator or P3D which look at taxiways and deal with them with respect to taxiway names, rather than just generically as 'a taxiway'.
We've found that pilots soon become familiar with signs and markings as instructor Smith has a lot to say about the taxiways, runways and holding positions the pilot is taxiing on and around. Added to this of course, he also has a wealth of knowledge, passed on as 'tips', about all the other signs and markings at airports which you may not be able to see at that time. Indeed, he has information on some that you will see only rarely in the simulator, but which are faithfully modelled at add-on airports.
As was the case with the addition of the instructors' awareness of ground and air traffic, this additional awareness of taxiways and runways has added a whole new level of immersion to the simulation, as one now knows that the instructor treats us as taxiing around an airport, rather than just racing around a parking lot which happens to have some interesting signs and markings here and there!
