Hi to all,
I'm new to the world of flight-sim and just wanted to try FSFS Demo for prepar3d before buying it.
I followed all the instructions in the manual but I'm unable to even start the software.
Simply nothing happens (apparently); I managed to note, in a blink of an eye, the appearance of an icon in the notification area, but it disapperead immediately.
Same behaviour with FSFS for FSX and X-Plane.

I'm using:
- windows 10 (final release) with all drivers update on an HP Envy 15 laptop (Geforce 740M, 12GB RAM);
- prepar3d 2.5.12946.0, which works beatifully.
Looking for help (and sorry for bad english, I'm Italian).
Ciao
Alberto

Hi Alberto:

Your English is excellent - many thanks for your interest in our products!

If our FSX, P3D and XP10 products are all doing the same thing - that is - appearing to run only for a moment and then terminating, then from the report you have written it sounds most likely to be a case where security software of some kind is blocking the software from running.

Please note - DO NOT stop your security software.

Are you describing what happens when you run the installer of each program or the installed program itself?

Most security (e.g. antivirus) software has options where you can force it to 'trust' whichever applications you choose. Can you find this and make it 'trust' our applications?

Are you launching the applications 'as an administrator' as described in the manuals?

Thank you for your prompt reply SquadronLeader.
Unfortunately I have no antivirus software running on my laptop: only windows defender.
I tried to run the software as admin, but no effect.
I suppose there is some strange incompatibility between my actual configuration and the software.
May I ask if the software has a "debug mode" to run or a log to look at?
I have some degree of experience in software.
By the look of it I would say that the problem could be some shared dll....
May I ask in which language (VB, VCC or else) is FSFS develeped in?
I could try to fix it replacing the runtime DLL's...
Anyway, looking forward to test FSFS, which looks great by the vids.

Hi Alberto:

We are working on this and still stuck - so more questions...

- Are you describing what happens when you run the installer of each program or the installed program itself?

- Is software developed on this PC? If so - in which languages?

Answering your questions...

The software is developed in VB6.

This is no direct log as such - files are written when the program is running, but not a log of events.
