(Taken from email to a sim pilot...)

FSFS is running all over the world with FSX and FS2004 and XP and Vista - so we'll get there...!

We first need to establish that FSUIPC is installed and functioning correctly on the PC.

This is simple to check - if installed correctly then FSUIPC will be listed as an item on the Add-Ons menu inside FSX. You can only see this menu when you are actually in control of an aircraft (in the air or on the ground) - not at the earlier menus.

If FSUIPC appears on the menu then it is installed correctly - if it does not then something went wrong with the installation or it was never installed (even though its files may be on your PC).

FSFS requires FSUIPC to be installed correctly in order to communicate with FSX.

If it is installed correctly then follow these steps. We have found that with so many different combinations of FSX and Vista and XP and other add-ons, this sequence is the best to follow...

Start your PC OFF.

Turn on your PC.

Launch FSX.

Select an aircraft which you are certain is supported by FSFS. We suggest you start with the Cessna 172. All supported aircraft exist as files in the Aircraft folder of your FSFS installation.

Get your aircraft onto a runway or taxiway or at a gate - ready to fly.

Launch FSFS.

Press the CONNECT button in FSFS.

You should hear "FSFlyingSchool - connecting!"

After that you are ready to fly, but please read the manual in order to understand what the instructor is trying to tell you and why - you will enjoy the product so much more.

If you have any problems, please state the nature of the problem in detail including any error messages. Please send screen shots as attachments if problems occur on the screen.

Let us know how you get on.
