Hi all, Ok today I am a new purchaser of FS FlightSchool Pro 2014 with FS Instant Approach Pro. I install as directed and everything seems fine. I set up a new pilot and save, set up voice etc and all seems fine. I start my FSX and it starts up fine. I alt+tab to minimise my fsx screen and then run FSFS as administrator and connect.... now comes the very frustrating part. I have the little FSX minimised icon in my bottom taskbar and according to instructions I should be able to click on it to return to my cockpit... well it just does not work! I click on the icon and all i get is a windows 'ding' sound, each time I click on it it adds another FSX icon layer, If I try and 'open' from the icon it tells me FSX is already running....... so frustrating. So in frustration I just keep mashing the FSX icon in the taskbar and eventually my FSX screen/cockpit finally pops up. Now this bashing away at a taskbar icon cannot be the way this software works so what am I doing wrong? In the advertising of this product it shows the FSFS screen in the cockpit? I have no idea how to set up or install the FS Instant Approach Pro which supposedly came with my purchase because I have spent the last one and a half hours trying to get the switching back to cockpit issue resolved. I appreciate that a lot of people have bought this program but surely the installation, running and switching should by now be faultless. I have NO issues with any other software or programs no matter how hard i push them, I have a 6 core 3.8 GHz processor, GForce GTX 750 Ti video card, 32 gig DDR3 ram all running on win7 64bit OS. All drivers and versions are up to date and working perfectly. I have the two 28' monitors set to 1920 x 1080 x 16. I have the FSUIPC version 4.90 set in FSX . I have looked in the .pdf manual about the switching back to cockpit but can find nothing on my issue. I hope someone has an idea of what is going wrong with my FSFS as even though I am quite comfortable flying my FSX 737-800 anywhere in the world I know I can benefit from a voice instructor critiquing my performance. I need more practice on VOR / VFR approaches and that is why I purchased this software. If someone can point me in the right direction to solving this issue i would be very grateful.
Cheers
H
* I just noticed in another post that it looks like the FSFS window is open in the cockpit view! how does this happen. I have been alt+tab ing to get out of the cockpit to start FSFS program... even more confused now :/

Hi:
Sorry to read you've had trouble with FSFlyingSchool - I am sure we can get you up and running smoothly.
The key issue is that FSX and FSFlyingSchool are two separate applications, running separately under Windows.
Switching between them can be achieved by a number of means, such as ALT TAB or by clicking on the FSX icon on the task bar.
Some folks experience a reluctance from FSX to simply switch back to being the current program and this can be helped by running FSX in a window rather than full screen. The window can of course occupy the entire screen. Switching into or out of windowed mode is done by pressing ALT ENTER when you are in a plane.
FSFS is never running within the FSX program - but it can of course be viewed on top of FSX whenever desired.
FS Instant Approach is a separate program - but the features are in FSFlyingSchool - they are accessed at the Flight Plan screen of FSFS.
Please let me know how you get on and if you have any questions.
