I am flying the standard FSX Boeing 737-800 with the detail pack.
I have 2 questions.

1. Even though I set the take-off trim to the required value in the VC view it does not recognise it and keeps saying repeatedly to set the take-off trim between 2.75 and 8.5. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.

2. Is it possible to change any of the callouts or to stop selected ones. eg. I fly with FSPassengers and I can request, and get approved from ATC to fly faster than 250 knots below 10,000 feet. However I then get repeatedly that I must not exceed 250 knots below 10,000 feet. It would be great if I could control some of these callouts via the config file or something. I know I can turn the detail pack off but then I lose other things that I want to keep.

Having said all that I do enjoy the program very much .

I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

[Update].
Question 1 is now resolved. Even though the Detail Pack states "Note that you can set take off trim within the 3D cockpit" this does not work. However by selecting the trim via the kneepad it does work. There is obviously a bug in the aircraft as the settings for the trim are different for this view and the 3D view and the other 2D view.

Hi Ivan:

1. Glad you have resolved item (1). I'm not sure I've heard of this being a problem before, but at least you have it solved. Yes - there are certainly issues with the FSX B737-800 that are quite unrelated to FSFlyingSchool. Some switches do not perform correctly and there are a lot of differences between what will happen when controls are used in the 2D versus the 3D mode.
Some things can only be operated in 3D mode rather than 2D, and indeed vice versa. We chose to create a detail pack for the aircraft as we wanted to do an airliner and this way we could be sure that folks would have the plane (it is not an add-on).

2. At present there is no way in FSFS to turn off selected voice files, beyond the options you can already see in FSFS. Although...
...if you wish, you can always rename the file being played so as never to hear it again! If the flight situation that triggers the voice file affects your score, it will continue to do so of course, but at least you will not hear something that no longer pleases you.
The file in question is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\FSFlyingSchool\Sound\MrSmith\b737\IASOver250Below10000MSL.wav

and if you want to remove the advice too, you could also rename...

C:\Program Files (x86)\FSFlyingSchool\Sound\MrSmith\b737\IAS250Below10000MSL.wav

This is something that can be done with any file that displeases the pilot.

I hope that helps!

Thanks Squadron Leader. I hadn't thought of that. That will do nicely and as you said there are afew others I might decide to turn off as well as they conflict with what FSPassengers requires me to do. So thanks again and congratulations on a fantastic product.
