Hello,
I just bought FSFS for X-plane 10 and I like very much! I have a question, though.
I'm practicing landing with a C172. I use the local map in X-plane to locate my plane 3 Nm out of the runway. Sometimes FSFS recognizes the new situation, but often I have to leave X-plane (full screen) to disconnect FSFS and connect again.
I understand that the sudden switch is difficult to anticipate, but perhaps there is a command to let FSFS stop monitoring? After setting the new situation there should be another command to let it start again (following the same procedure as just after clicking the connect button)? The advantage would be that you don’t have to leave X-plane.
Thanks a lot!
Matthijs

Hi Matthijs:
I am very glad that you are enjoying your flights with us!
There is no option at present to do what you suggest - i.e. ask FSFS to "disconnect" or "connect" while you are still in your simulator, so that you don't have to switch applications between your simulator and FSFS, but I see what you mean and that it could be useful. We will look into this and may indeed add to a future release.
It present, it has to disconnect otherwise the instructors would have to try to evaluate a flight in which the plane could have suddenly moved thousands of miles.
Your feedback is very much appreciated - please let us know if you have any other suggestions - we read all of them and try to incorporate those we can.

Ok,
Thanks a lot for the swift reaction! I hope to move on to flying circuits soon enough...no switching of applications necessary then..
Kind regards,
Matthijs
