Hi to all:
Thanks very much for your suggestions.
Overall, the program is a mix of 'instruction' and 'test'.
The instructors do, already, offer advice before scoring penalties are incurred for such actions as, for example, banking, descending too fast, pitching up or down, taxiing turns, levelling wings, rotating, steering during take off, flying too fast, taxiing too fast, etc. but we could indeed add the ability to optionally turn these OFF as they are already ON.
We could also set up parameters such as taxi speed, bank limit, G-forces during taxi, etc, that could be changed, but there would of course be a very large number of these and they would need to vary with each aircraft. The input we've received to date does not put this at the top of the list, but it is something that we can, nevertheless, add to the list.

I find it quite useful when the instructor calls out the Vr speed at take-off or the altitudes when landing, however when he keeps talking while I'm communicating with ATC that's a real no-go. Would be nice to be able to more finely define what the instructor should say as right now I have to turn off the sound when I want to fly with ATC.

If you have the voicepack, you can ask Smith to be quiet, and he then will, until you call for him again...

Hi Peter:
Ole's advice is excellent, as usual!
Please also note that there are several different categories of speech which can be controlled from the different screens of FSFS, where you can control exactly what type of things the instructor will, or will not talk about.

I have a habit of forgetting to switch on or off my transponder.
Reminders from the instructor would be useful.

"You missed your waypoint" feature. At the moment, if I happen to bypass a waypoint by more than 1.00 NM (in the Baron 58), the instructor keeps tuning my radio to that waypoint. A "real" instructor would correct or berate me for lack of accuracy, but would most likely advise me to proceed to the next waypoint and try to be more accurate on that one. I can't see any way to "force" next waypoint as the active one.
The software/instructor should be smart enough, once I am 5NM or more on the other side of of the waypoint, to say "You missed waypoint x by xx nautical miles. Let's try to stay on course and cross within 1NM of our next waypoint."

Hi Paul:
Apologies for delay - missed this one - yes that is a good idea and we can add this to items we are thinking about! Thanks for your input!

Hi CH:
I see what you mean. Nice idea. This is also something we can put on the list to look at. As to the logic I suppose it would be something like:
If the current waypoint is more than (say) 3nm closer to the previous waypoint than you are, then declare it as 'missed' and make the next waypoint become the current waypoint.
