Hi all

Just purchased the C208B Caravan pack.

FSFS only picks up the C208B.fsr file when flying the default C208B

When I use the Carendo C208B it defaults to data source 'unknown'.

Any ideas

Thanks

Also keeps repeating: ''fuel condition lever at low idle please'

I already have it in that position

I just checked the Carenado C208B on my system, with the new detail pack, and I have no problems. It recognizes the Carenado version as well as the default FSX version, and when I set the fuel condition lever to 15%, Mr. Smith stops telling me to set it to "low idle".

So I don´t know what´s wrong on your system, but on mine it all works flawlessly.

Not much help I´m sorry, but just to rule out that its the pack not working.

Hi -

The c208B pack is modelled on the default FS c208B but can be used with others. The instructor will detect that you are flying a "208" and provide the details listed in the c208B Detail Pack.

This is unrelated to the FSR files which control whether you can submit a score to our website.

FSFS will always say "unknown" if there is no matching FSR or FSU file for the aircraft.

You can stop this, if you wish, but it is not required in any way.

Just save the user data shown at the aircraft screen, creating your own FSU file for any aircraft you want to fly.

There are full details in the manual.

Please let me know how you get on.

Hi Alpha -

Many thanks to Ole - who appears to be looking at the same posts as me at the same time! It's good to have lots of feedback!

As to the fuel condition lever - I second Ole's findings.

Are you perhaps using a controller for this lever? This can often lead to very small differences in results. For example, there are controllers that will not read as "OFF" or "FULL" even when fully extended through a specific axis.

Of course the position you need here is somewhat forward of fully AFT. We programmed the detection of this position to be very generous - if the controller is about in the right zone then MrSmith will allow it. If it is too far forward or too far aft, he will not.

What does the FSX popup (yellow) 'tooltip' say the position is when you hover the mouse over the (red) control lever in the 3D cockpit? (At the time that you have reported MrSmith giving the statement)
