In the Dornier Do-27 on the ground when I connect FS flying school the instructor keeps saying, lets retract those spoilers. She keeps repeating this until I close the cowl flaps. This is a problem since the checklist for this plane clearly states that the cowl flaps should remain open until cruise.

Very interesting. Something about that aircraft is convincing FSFS that the cowl flaps position is the spoilers position. Not all add-on aircraft behave the same - we are looking at this issue. 

This is not a case of the instructor trying to tell the pilot how to operate the cowl flaps - FSFS is simply being misled by the readings it is getting from the add-on aircraft.

As a workaround for the time being, I can suggest you fly this aircraft with a different instructor. At present (see manual) Mr Smith and Miss Aviatrix are the only instructors who watch your spoilers. The other guys are a bit more relaxed...
